What happens after Jesus’ resurrection? In this episode of Truth Seekers: Bible Stories for Kids, we travel to the Sea of Galilee for the unforgettable story of Jesus restoring Peter in John 21:1–19.

After fishing all night and catching nothing, Peter and the disciples see a mysterious man standing on the shore. When He tells them to cast their net on the other side of the boat, suddenly their net is overflowing with fish. John immediately realizes, “It is the Lord!” Peter jumps into the water and rushes toward Jesus, who is waiting for His disciples on the shore with breakfast and a fire of burning coals.

But this breakfast is about much more than fish. Beside the fire, Jesus asks Peter three times, “Do you love me?” Peter had denied Jesus three times before the crucifixion, but his failure would not be the end of his story. Jesus restores Peter, gives him a new purpose, and once again calls him to “Follow me!”

This Bible story for kids is a beautiful picture of the grace, forgiveness, and second chances we receive through Jesus. Children will learn that when we sin or fail, we do not have to run away from God. We can run toward Him, receive His forgiveness, and continue following Him.

Influencers of Jesus do not celebrate in the sin of this world, but rather, they mourn over those who have lost their way and pray for those who don't know Jesus to come to know Him as their Lord and Savior.
