Lent is all about purification that our love for the Lord might deepened and animated by the Holy Spirit. Christianity should be a life changing encounter with Jesus which results in an adventure and not just behavior modification. Before the beginning of time, God had the Church in mind as the means through which He would reconcile humanity back to Himself. The Church is the seed of the Kingdom on earth. Jesus gave His Church four marks or signs that we might be able to discover her in the twenty first century. The four marks are One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. These marks are presented in rapid fire succession (13min including intro and song). Hold on to your seat-belts as we journey through the process of identifying the Church.

One of the most misunderstood teachings of the Church is about the Pope. About eight years ago, I can remember working as an accountant in my cubicle and being challenged by a co-worker. Ave Maria Radio was on and some speaker mentioned the "Holy Father." My co-worker paused her work to comment on how she did not appreciate some man being called "Holy Father" when there is only one Holy Father, God the Father. I proceeded to try to explain to her the significance of the Pope and his title of "Holy Father." This vodcast gives a biblical explanation of the papacy. St. Peter, pray for us. St. John Paul the Great pray for us!

Jesus intends for us to have a spiritual mother! Will you be like the apostle John? Will you take Mary into your home (heart)? Mary was the first to say yes to the Incarnation.
