Today, I am discussing the Nashville TN school shooting and the Winston Salem NC school lockdown that took place shortly after. The truth is that we need love, support, hope, prayers and to come together to have the conversations that need to be had. Is it mental health issues? Is it misusing guns? Do we need carrying permits? Let's talk about this together that is compromise and that is what we need to do in order to find a solution.

It is NOT a reflection of either schools that were targeted they did everything that they knew to do to keep the staff and students SAFE. The truth is that attacks can happen anywhere. We need to be having the conversations with our children at home about gun safety, talk to them about how they are feeling and see how we can show up better for them. A sense of security and safety starts at home. We need to encourage our children and instill FAITH, HOPE and show them love.

School shootings are a tragedy, they are trauma and they leave us in shock. There is NO excuse for them. Together let's work to find a solution. I'm going to do my part, will you?

When I went to record this podcast I didn't really know what I would say, I didn't have notes beside me like I usually do.. I just went with the flow and I know this episode may step on your toes and if it does, I am sorry. I wish I would've had someone like myself in my corner when I needed wisdom the most and to know which way to turn, almost like confirmation.. If this episode challenges you, that isn't always a bad thing. Really listen to what I am saying and apply it to the areas that you feel challenged.
