In the first part of this chapter a very important truth was established. We are all saved by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. Now, certain believers along with Paul and Barnabas will deliver this message to the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia. Do you need to become a Jew first in order to saved? This is what will be in answered in the Jerusalem council. The answer to this question was that both Jew and Gentile are saved the same way. Peter said, "But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they(Acts 15:11)."

In this chapter study, we will see an apostle who had perfect peace. James the brother of John had just been killed by Herod, and Peter was arrested. Yet, we will see that Peter is at peace. We do not see him worrying, but we find him asleep between two soldiers.

News had spread among "the apostles and brethren" that the Gentiles had also received the word of God (Acts 10:1), but not everyone was happy." In chapter 11 Peter reviews with the brethren, the events that led to the Gentiles hearing and receiving the word of God. After hearing from Peter, their conclusion was "Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life." (Acts 11:18)

The rest of this chapter shifts its focus to Barnabas and a man named Saul, who would become known as Paul.

In this chapter God uses a Jew, Peter to take the gospel to a Gentile, Cornelius. In a vision the LORD tells Peter, "What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common(Acts 10:15)." The sacrifice that Christ made on the cross made it possible for all to be saved.

In this chapter we learn of the conversion of Saul who became known as Paul.
