News had spread among "the apostles and brethren" that the Gentiles had also received the word of God (Acts 10:1), but not everyone was happy." In chapter 11 Peter reviews with the brethren, the events that led to the Gentiles hearing and receiving the word of God. After hearing from Peter, their conclusion was "Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life." (Acts 11:18)
The rest of this chapter shifts its focus to Barnabas and a man named Saul, who would become known as Paul.
