Before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, his forerunner was born. Before the Angel Gabriel visited Mary, he visited Zacharias the priest. This passage is about the promise given to Zacharias and his wife Elizabeth.

In the final chapter of the book of Ruth, everyone is anxiously awaiting the outcome. What is going to happen to Ruth? Will she be able to marry Boaz, or will the other kinsman accept his responsibility. We will see how everything is working out according to God's will.

In this chapter we Naomi encouraging Ruth to claim Boaz as her "Kinsman-redeemer."

In this chapter Ruth gleans in the field of someone that is a "kinsman." We see that Boaz, who is a type of Christ, shows favor to Ruth. She not only gets "handfuls of purpose" of grain, but she gets more than she could ever imagine. In this chapter we see with God there is "No Limit" to His grace.

This story takes place during the time of the Judges. The time period of the story of Ruth probably took place when Jair judges Israel: 1126-1105 B.C. (Judges 10:3-5).

In the oldest compilations of the Old Testament, the book of Ruth was not included with the books of history. It was included with the books of prophecy.

The book of Ruth is read in its entirety all night long during the Feast of Pentecost.
