Truth to Ponder

Since the founding of the United States, the sanctity of the press has been vital for accountability. It is enshrined in the Constitution. However, over the years, the press has become less a “watchdog” and more of the tail that wags the dog. From print to television, their legacy has been squandered, trashed, and destroyed. This is why “new media” is growing. The big problem is how many of the new media can truly be trusted? Bob shares his thoughts on this edition.

How often do we think we have everything figured out? Often, we get to a place where we allow circumstances and pre-conceived notions to drive our footsteps when God may have other plans. How do you step back, listen, and let God’s Holy Spirit lead the way? In this time of increasing global and domestic uncertainty, we all need to be in touch with God’s plans for our lives. Bob shares some recent unexpected changes.

A brutal reality is beginning to settle in for many people. All the hope and celebration of just over a year ago is beginning to fade. The big changes aren’t happening; the truth isn't coming out as fast as many thought, and it seems to be slowing to a crawl. At the rate things are going, it could all unravel before the end of the year. So where can you find true hope and real change? Bob explains why it can never be politics.

The Sunday morning message from Trinity Chapel with Truth to Ponder Host, Bob Biermann.

Today’s program brings to a close a chapter in the mission and ministry of “Truth to Ponder.” For over five years, Bob Biermann has been producing this daily program to help guide you in these troubling and changing times. However, it is time for a change, and it’s time to take a break. This will be the last daily podcast for a while. Bob plans to spend the month of February taking care of critical family business and health issues. When the program returns in March, it will have a new life and a new purpose that is far greater than just new commentary. Pray for Bob during this time of transition.

Today, because of the recent ice and snowstorm, Bob needs to make repairs to his church building and studio. Ice damage has affected one of the primary internet connections, and the heating system is not working. Bob asked Jim Calhoun to fill in for today’s broadcast so they could get that work done.

Much of the nation was impacted by the recent winter storm. Where Bob lives, there is ice and frequent power outages. Even the studio at Bob’s church is still impacted.

Today, both Bob and his wife have medical appointments, so bob asked his friend Jim Calhoun to fill in on short notice. In this edition, Jim addresses a few “hot-button” issues on his mind. Bob will be back on Wednesday.

Has Truth to Ponder run its course? Is this program still relevant and useful? Is there still a purpose for what we have been doing for over 5 years? Bob asks that question and shares what is on his heart.
