Conformity
Trust and Conformity. When you need more trust from others you work harder to conform to them (mimic them).
Will a perceived lack of trust from others cause more conformity in an individual?
Social Expectation
What is social expectation? What do you expect from others and what do they expect from you?
Mowing lawns and broken window theory
All 3 together: The need for trust causes conformity. Conformity sets a level of social expectation. Setting a new level of social expectation will only work if your peers trust you.

Rules of Engagement
No hyperbole
No name-calling, no insults
Nothing is sacrosanct, everything can be questioned
The "natural" is not revered
Ideas are more important than the person who communicates them. No one is inherently wrong. No one is stupid.
Avoid mentions of Hitler or Nazi Germany. Avoid Godwin's Law. 

Goals
Unravelling confirmation bias!
Debunking deeply held assumptions. Sometimes rebuilding them, other times tearing them down.
Anti-adversarial discussion. Disagree amicably
Willingness to call out falsehoods that support my own personal beliefs.
Anti-absolutist stance. You can be against my ideas but still be with me.
Develop proper and useful definitions of seemingly everyday terms (trust, intuition, racism, leadership, all "code words" in society)
Encourage "ordinary people" to think deeply about pretty much everything
No swearing (we'll try!)
