  • The Blessings of the Church
This sermon explores the vital importance of the Church by examining the blessings found in 1 Timothy 3:14-16. It highlights four key aspects of the church's value: intimacy through close relationships, instruction via godly leadership and teaching, integrity grounded in biblical truth, and the central Gospel mystery of the incarnation. The preacher argues that the church is not a voluntary club but an essential body where believers receive spiritual nourishment and support. By remaining connected to this community, Christians avoid isolation and grow in their faith under the care of Christ and his undershepherds. Ultimately, the message urges listeners to value the Church as the pillar and ground of truth, in her publication and promotion of the truth.

  • John 14:1-6 – The Future is Bleak ... or is it?
If you read the news, you might be convinced that our country is going to implode shortly, wars will break out in every part of the world, and life is going to be too difficult for you in the very near future. A few years ago, some people were afraid to have children thinking that it was irresponsible to bring children into such a topsy-turvy world. The truth is that things are not usually as bad as the news indicates. Life goes on apart from what happens in Hollywood and Washington. But there are still some things that cause anxiety for us. We look at health needs, family problems, financial troubles, and start to believe that the future is bleak. But was it any different at this point with the disciples of Jesus? Jesus had just announced that one of the disciples would betray Him and that Peter would deny Him three times. On top of that, He was headed to the cross where He would die. To the disciples, the future looked very bleak. What could Jesus say to encourage them at this difficult time?

  • Abounding Love
"Abounding Love" The central truth of this message is that God never intends for His people to become stagnant in love, faith, understanding, or service. The Thessalonian believers were already loving well, working by faith, laboring through love, enduring hardship, and maintaining a strong testimony, yet Paul repeatedly tells them to "increase and abound more and more" (1 Thessalonians 3:12; 4:1, 10). Spiritual maturity does not mean arriving at a place where there is nothing left to learn; it means continually growing in our knowledge of Christ and allowing that growth to deepen the way we love and serve others. Paul teaches that Christ-centered love is God-taught love. It is not merely natural affection or human kindness, but fruit produced by the Holy Spirit. Yet even genuine love must grow. Philippians 1:9–11 explains that love should abound "in knowledge and all discernment." As our understanding of God increases, our ability to love people wisely also increases. Love sometimes comforts, sometimes confronts, sometimes gives, and sometimes withholds. Therefore, sincere intentions alone are not enough—we need truth and discernment from God. A person can be sincere and still be sincerely wrong. That growing love should become visible in the way we walk. Paul repeatedly calls believers to walk worthy of God, walk pleasing to Him, and walk properly toward outsiders. What we believe ought to affect how we behave. The Church are not called to manufacture unnecessary controversy or draw attention to themselves, but to live quiet, responsible, faithful lives centered on the mission of Christ. The gospel may create opposition, but believers should never add unnecessary off

  • What Choice Will You Make?
The sermon contrasts the temporary pleasures of sin with the eternal value of following Christ, using Moses' decision to reject Pharaoh's wealth as a primary example. It emphasizes that believers must consciously weigh their options daily, recognizing that even the worst circumstances in God's will are superior to the best offers from the world. The preacher challenges the misconception that serving Jesus leads to misery, arguing instead that faith allows one to see the invisible reality of God's presence and reward. Through a personal testimony of running from and then returning to God, the speaker illustrates that true richness is found not in material treasure but in a life surrendered to divine purpose. Ultimately, the message calls listeners to make a deliberate choice to esteem Christ above all worldly gains.

  • Rejoicing in Suffering Through Christ
How can Christians rejoice when life is painful? In this episode, Dave Jenkins explains that biblical joy does not mean pretending suffering does not hurt. Through Romans 5:3–5, James 1:2–4, and Romans 8:18, believers are reminded that God uses trials to produce endurance, character, and hope. Because Christ is faithful, salvation is secure, and eternity is certain, suffering does not have the final word. • Deception, Discernment, and the Truth of God’s Word
In this August series wrap-up, Dave Jenkins examines the common thread behind counterfeit spirituality, prophetic culture, prosperity theology, emotionalism, and other deceptive movements: a shift away from the authority and sufficiency of God's Word. Christians do not need new revelations, spiritual trends, or captivating personalities. In Christ, believers have everything necessary for life and godliness. This episode calls listeners to test every teaching by Scripture, grow in biblical literacy, and stand firm in the truth as the church ministers in a post-truth culture. • Essential Points in Prayer (sermon 2064)
This is a lovely sermon, grounded in the Lord's second appearance to Solomon, and our Sovereign's answer to his humble servant. Spurgeon takes Solomon's prayer as a model for our own, and looks to God's answer as a pattern for our faith to expect. He shows us our proper place in prayer, coming before the Lord, and what that means, and how to find him. He explains that the great desire of the praying man is to be heard of the Lord in our prayer and supplication, and what it really means to be heard. He stirs us up to an assurance of answer to prayer, and the ways in which the Lord gives that confidence to his people. Finally, how should we pray? Spurgeon's counsels to his own people may need a little massaging to fit us, but it is not hard work! He guides us through Solomon's petitions and their answers, demonstrating how these are the very things that we desire in the church of Jesus Christ. And so, we are taught to pray, being led to the throne of grace, and with our souls stirred to seek a blessing and to look for its coming from the heart and hand of our gracious God.
