  • When is a bible not THE BIBLE?
What makes the Bible the Bible? In this lesson, Pastor Ed Decker takes us back to the foundation of what we believe about the Word of God. The Bible contains 66 books, written by approximately 40 different authors over a period of roughly 1,500–1,600 years, yet these books form ONE BOOK—the Word of God. Pastor Decker looks at the unity of Scripture, the two major divisions of the Bible—the Old Testament and the New Testament—and the relationship between them. The Old Testament points forward in promise, preparation, foundation, and type, while the New Testament reveals fulfillment, presentation, the building, and the truth. The lesson then moves into the doctrine of inspiration. What does it mean that the Holy Spirit moved human writers so that they recorded the very words and sense of God while writing in their own literary styles? Pastor Decker examines both the human and divine aspects of Scripture and introduces the important truths of confluent and verbal inspiration. If we are going to know what we believe—and why—we must first know what we believe about the Book upon which our faith rests.

  • What Is A Christian? | Catechesis Ep. 004
This episode defines a Christian not by external markers such as doctrine, baptism, or moral behavior, but by the fundamental reality of belonging to Jesus Christ. It argues that true conversion involves the Holy Spirit effectually applying Christ's redemption to spiritually dead sinners, resulting in a new union with Him. The episode emphasizes that salvation is entirely by grace through faith, distinguishing saving faith from mere intellectual assent or cultural association. Consequently, this union with Christ becomes the source of justification, adoption, and sanctification, transforming the believer's identity and motivating obedience. The episode concludes by affirming that this belonging to Christ provides ultimate hope and defines the Christian life as a communal discipleship rooted in the resurrection.

  • WHAT MEAN YE BY THESE STONES
WHAT MEAN YE BY THESE STONES. Joshua 4:1-24 KJVAfter God miraculously brought Israel across the Jordan River on dry ground, He commanded Joshua to take twelve stones from the river and establish a memorial. Those stones were more than rocks—they were a testimony. When future generations asked, "What mean ye by these stones?", God's people were to tell them what the Lord had done.In this opening lesson we examine why God established memorials and why remembering His works matters. The twelve stones reminded Israel of God's power in the past, His presence in the present, and His faithfulness for the future. They also gave parents an opportunity to teach their children the mighty works of God.Every generation needs its own "stones of remembrance"—testimonies of answered prayer, salvation, deliverance, provision, and the faithfulness of God. We must never allow the next generation to inherit our buildings, traditions, and Bibles without also hearing the story of what God has done."What mean ye by these stones?" — Joshua 4:6 KJVThe stones could not speak for themselves. Someone who remembered what God had done had to tell the story.Joshua 4 does not end with Israel merely crossing a river. It ends with a testimony being established. The water would begin flowing again. The footprints in the riverbed would disappear. The generation that crossed Jordan would eventually pass away. But the stones remained. Why?Because God knew something about us:We have a tendency to forget. We remember the trouble, but forget the deliverance. We remember the night we cried, but forget the morning when God answered. We remember how deep the Jordan looked,, but forget that God made a way through it!

  • Thinkers and Doers of the Word
Thinkers and Doers of the Word Philippians 4:8-9 -Why is thinking so important in the Christian life? How does the world, the flesh, and the devil war against Christians thinking godly? -Make a quick list of the things your mind has been focusing on over the last 24 hours? How does that compare to what the apostle Paul commands us to focus on? -How can the list in v8 serve as filters for your thoughts? What does it look like to take captive a thought and make it obedient to Christ? -How do you seek to apply the truths you are taught? Why does putting truth into practice bring peace? • An Example To Follow
In "An Example To Follow", Pastor Richard Caldwell preaches on finishing the Christian race well and leaving a faithful legacy. The Apostle Paul knew his death was near, yet his focus remained fixed on the glory of God. In his final charge to Timothy, Paul evaluates his life not with vain boasting, but with a deep awareness of God's sustaining grace. This passage serves as a conscious passing of the baton to the next generation of faithful believers who will shepherd the local church. Believers are called to view their lives as a sacrificial offering poured out in worship to the Lord. Whether in life or death, our supreme purpose is the exaltation of Jesus Christ and the bold proclamation of biblical truth. We must not live for the fleeting comforts of this present age, but rather fight the good fight of faith. True spiritual maturity recognizes that God sovereignly determines the length of our days. Therefore, we must purposefully run the specific course assigned to us, fiercely guarding the pure doctrines of scripture. Those who trust in Christ can confidently anticipate a triumphant future crowned with the eternal righteousness of the Redeemer. Key Biblical Takeaways: - Your life and ministry must be viewed as a daily sacrifice of worship poured out for the glory of God. - God sovereignly determines the length of your days, but you are responsible to purposefully run the race assigned to you. - True faithfulness requires fiercely guarding the purity of biblical doctrine against the corruption of the world. - Believers can face death with absolute confidence because Christ guarantees a victorious future and the crown of righteousness.

  • The Worship God Seeks
This sermon explores the nature of true worship by examining Jesus' conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well, emphasizing that God is a spirit who cannot be contained by geography or human imagination. It argues that genuine worship requires sincerity and alignment with biblical truth, moving beyond mere outward attendance or ritualistic performance. The message highlights the grace of God, who seeks out sinners not to condemn them but to reveal their need for redemption through Jesus Christ. By contrasting the woman's attempt to change the subject with Jesus' deep engagement with her conscience, the sermon calls listeners to stop hiding their sin and to embrace the gospel. It concludes with an urgent appeal for believers to restore the joy of salvation and for seekers to trust in Christ alone for forgiveness and reconciliation with God.

  • The Son's Witnesses
In this message from John 5:31-47, Pastor Rockhill takes up Jesus' response to the religious leaders who had charged Him with blasphemy for claiming equality with God. His central burden is that God has provided abundant, undeniable witness to the identity of Jesus as the eternal Son, so that those who reject Him are left entirely without excuse. Pastor Rockhill unfolds these witnesses, moving from the lesser to the greater. He begins with the "lesser" yet true witness of John the Baptist, that burning and shining lamp who pointed to the Lamb of God, and then turns to the greater witness of the Father Himself. The Father testifies through the mighty works and signs Jesus performed and through the Scriptures, which from Moses onward bear witness to Christ. Pastor Rockhill stresses that the Old Testament everywhere testifies of the coming Messiah, and that true searching of Scripture leads the heart to Jesus for life. The doctrine is sharpened by a sober diagnosis of unbelief. The leaders did not believe because they had no love of God in their hearts, because they craved the honor of men rather than the honor of God, and because they trusted in Moses and their own law-keeping rather than in Christ. Pastor Rockhill shows that Moses and the law, rightly understood, point to the one perfect law-keeper and accuse those who reject Him. By way of application, he calls believers to rest in God's truth without anxious self-defense, to discern when to shake the dust from their feet, and above all to humble themselves before these witnesses and come to Christ for eternal life.
