  • 26-10-04 Meet Bereans in Action
Meet Bereans in Action Faith Debate: Sunday, October 4th, 2026 (10/11/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) Should "Artificial Intelligence" be called Algorithm Processing? Do we know GPT means Generative Pre-trained Transformer; or are we "old man yelling at cloud" with "smart phones" making us dumb? Is AI controlled by populism (majority rules), tyrants (authoritarian rule), conventional wisdom (lowest common denominator), or someone else? Does technocratic central command make feedback loops based on majority input instead of the best input? Was AI made only for a moral/religious people, wholly inadequate to the use of any other? How's the gospel stay central thru authentic Spirit-led study & known sources, not a souped-up Wikipedia? Are sermons/counseling affected by what the Ethernet presents as prevailing wisdom, with posers pretending to know what they don't? In the battle of Christ & culture, people are being trained by simulacra designed by post-moderns believing we can't know anything for sure. So, be suspicious. Trust, but verify. Don't trade God-given intelligence for low-information slop- or jobs will be lost, lives sacrificed, & truth surrendered. Thus ends a final plug for the recent series on this topic. Now, here's part 3 of a 4-part discussion on the topic of spiritual apparitions. Find The Faith Debate at wfmd.com, ChristianPodcastCommunity.org, & podcast platforms like SermonAudio & Odysee. • Borrowed Bread — We Know A Man Who Can
"Borrowed Bread — We Know a Man Who Can." The message centers on the truth that we know a Man who can—Jesus—and everything we have becomes useful, fruitful, and sufficient when surrendered into His hands. The feeding of the multitude shows that what appears small and ordinary in our hands can become extraordinary when given to Him. The storm reveals His authority over the natural world, and the deliverance of the demoniacs demonstrates His authority over the spiritual realm. In every case, the answer is not found in human ability but in the sufficiency of Jesus. From there, the message develops the idea that we are all living on "borrowed bread." None of us truly directs our own steps or produces spiritual light, wisdom, righteousness, or strength from ourselves. Jeremiah 10 reminds us that "it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps," so the proper prayer is not merely, "Lord, fix what I'm going through," but, "Lord, correct me and prepare me for what I'm going through." We need God's light to reveal what is wrong, His grace to remove it, and His goodness to replace it. The message also emphasizes the necessity of a renewed mind and daily surrender. Romans 12 warns against being conformed to the world's blueprint—a way of living that attempts to navigate suffering, decisions, relationships, and hardship without factoring God into the equation. Instead, believers are called to present themselves as living sacrifices and allow the Lord to transform their thinking. This produces a holy "fear of missing out"—not fear of the world, but a reverent desire not to miss what God wants to teach, reveal, or accomplish in us today. A major practical truth is that the fles

  • WHEN GOD DECLASSIFIES THE SECRETS
WHEN GOD DECLASSIFIES THE SECRETS. [What Is Hidden Will One Day Be Revealed] Luke 12:1–3 KJV For decades, secret aircraft such as the U-2 and A-12 OXCART flew from highly classified facilities while the public wondered what was moving through the heavens. Today mankind continues searching distant worlds for answers about the universe. Yet Scripture begins with the ultimate answer: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."In this message, the mystery of classified files becomes a picture of a much greater spiritual truth. God sees what we have classified, God will reveal what we have covered, and God can cleanse what we could never erase. One day the books will be opened, but through the blood of Jesus Christ the sinner can be forgiven today.Man can classify a secret for decades, but nothing has ever been classified from Almighty God.

  • The Strange Woman: Counterfeit Love
Proverbs 7 exposes the counterfeit love offered by sexual temptation and contrasts it with God's design for covenant love—a faithful, knowing, passionate relationship that reflects Christ's love for His church. In The Strange Woman: Counterfeit Love, Solomon's warning shows how sexual sin promises pleasure without consequences, yet ultimately brings brokenness, shame, and destruction. The message calls believers to recognize temptation early, flee rather than negotiate with it, pursue purity before the moment of decision, and value the faithful covenant love God designed within marriage.

  • Source of Our Strength Continue With Truth
This sermon emphasizes the imperative to continue in the truths learned from Scripture, using the analogy of blind skiers relying on sighted guides to illustrate how believers depend on God's Word for direction in life. The central message urges Christians to move beyond mere intellectual learning to a state of conviction where the truth holds them, ensuring they remain steadfast amidst persecution and deception. Key theological themes include the inspiration and sufficiency of the Bible for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness, as well as the necessity of abiding in Christ to bear fruit. The tone is pastoral and instructional, encouraging the congregation to trust in the reliability of God's Word as their primary resource for spiritual growth and daily living. The sermon concludes with a reflection on the Lord's Supper, reminding believers that salvation is begun by faith in Christ's death and carried out by faith in His living presence.

  • Israel’s Unfaithfulness Exposed
The sermon examines Hosea 2:2-7 as a divine prosecution of Israel for spiritual unfaithfulness, highlighting the futility of pursuing false gods that cannot provide true security or prosperity. It identifies the universal human tendency to create idols and seek fulfillment outside of the one true God, describing this practice as a futile chase after non-existent entities. The text contrasts this delusion with the reality of the gospel, where Jesus Christ stands as the sole source of redemption and truth. The message calls the audience to reject all rivals to God, attribute all blessings to Him, and return to exclusive devotion to the Lord, recognizing that He alone is sufficient and faithful.

  • Is There Hope For Me?
Is my case hopeless? Some reach that tragic conclusion and position. For 12 years a woman Christ met had suffered. She had tried every remedy available, spending all she had. Yet instead of getting better, grew worse. Her experience is a striking parallel to our spiritual condition until we meet Christ: sin is a problem we can't cure ourselves. But everything changed. What no one else could do, Christ did for her when she came to Him. There is hope for the helpless and forgiveness for the guilty. Jesus is able to save. The question is: "Will I come to Christ and trust Him?"

  • Have I Got your Attention yet? - God
God does not speak merely to fill the air. He speaks to give wisdom, to correct the simple, and to establish the fear of the LORD in the heart. His calls may come through His provision, His Word, His works, correction, or the hard circumstances that make us stop and listen. From Proverbs 1:1-7 and Proverbs 1:28, Pastor Ed Decker shows that real knowledge does not begin with information. It begins when we stop, listen, and fear the LORD. Isaiah reminds us that there is no God beside Him, that He has declared the end from the beginning, and that He teaches us to profit and leads us in the way we should go. Wisdom is available, but fools despise wisdom and instruction until consequences make the warning plain. Text: Proverbs 1:1-7; Proverbs 1:28; Isaiah 45:5; Isaiah 46:9; Isaiah 48:17 Key truth: "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." — Proverbs 1:7
