  • Hoosier Hills Recovery Sunday
This message centers on the theological necessity of the new birth, using the encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus in John 3 to illustrate that spiritual transformation is a supernatural act of God rather than a result of human effort or religious status. The sermon connects this biblical truth to the practical work of the Hoosier Hills Recovery Ministry, highlighting how faith-based recovery restores broken lives through a renewed vertical relationship with God. Testimonies from participants demonstrate that true change involves moving from despair to hope, replacing bad habits with a foundation of grace, and finding identity in Christ rather than in past mistakes. The speaker emphasizes that while religion and self-improvement have limits, only the Spirit of God can give new life, making the new birth essential for entering the kingdom and securing one's name in the book of life. The tone is both instructional and deeply pastoral, urging the audience to accept the free gift of salvation and to walk in the newness of life that Christ provides.

  • Marching Orders
Jesus was unique, not only in His person but in HIs mission. He alone could effect salvation in the lives of His people. However, there are aspects of His Work and mission He graciously shares wth those He came to save. In Mark 6:7-13, the twelve disciples receive their first commission as Christ's Apostles. Jesus grants them authority and gives them their marching orders. It is delegated authority and power that belongs to Christ. They are to proclaim the Gospel, heal the sick, and cast out unclean spirits. Jesus is sending them as His emissaries. As with Christ's own ministry, the miracles and power over unclean spirits was in service of the Gospel, confirming the truth of the Good News of salvation.

  • Jesus: The Rock
This sermon concludes a series on the identity of Jesus by examining Matthew 16, where Peter confesses Christ as the Son of the Living God. The message clarifies that the church is built upon Jesus Christ, the cornerstone, rather than the apostle Peter, refuting common misinterpretations of the text. By contrasting the pagan history of Caesarea Philippi with the stability of God's truth, the sermon emphasizes that believers must anchor their lives in a firm spiritual foundation. It warns against the instability of relying on religious routines or human approval, using the Leaning Tower of Pisa as an illustration of weak foundations. Ultimately, the preacher urges the congregation to build their lives upon Jesus Christ, ensuring stability and security amidst the chaos of the world.

  • Rallying under the banner
This sermon examines Psalm 60, exploring how King David responds to military defeat by turning to God rather than relying on his own strength. The central message emphasizes that while believers may experience trials or feel cast off, they are secure under the banner of God's truth and are viewed as His beloved. The exposition contrasts human self-reliance with divine sovereignty, illustrating that God uses difficulties to foster humility and dependence on Him. By referencing the secured inheritance described in 1 Peter, the message affirms that no spiritual enemy can steal the salvation won by Christ. Ultimately, the sermon encourages believers to find confidence in God's control over history and their eternal destiny, trusting that He alone brings true victory.

  • Beginning from Jerusalem
Jesus' death and resurrection were not the only aspects of his work promised in the Old Testament Scriptures. The Scriptures also promise the global spread of his gospel by his Spirit and through his people. This is a profound truth that gives the church confidence today to go and send and risk much for the sake of God's name among the nations. In Luke 24:47 we continue our multi-week trek through Jesus' third and final resurrection encounter in which he anchors his disciples in the Scriptures to strengthen them for their mission.

  • Satan's Voice or a Soldier's Stand? Which Will You Choose?
Satan's Voice or a Soldier's Stand? Which Will You Choose? Are you sitting through the Christian life, or are you serving and standing like a soldier? In Ephesians 6:5-20, the apostle Paul moves from faithful service in our daily responsibilities to the reality of spiritual warfare. Believers are called to serve "as to the Lord," be strong in His might, put on the whole armour of God, pray always, and stand against the wiles of the devil. Pastor Ed Decker challenges us to examine which sound is shaping our lives: Satan's noise, fear, and deception, or the steady sound of a soldier who knows the truth, carries the shield of faith, uses the sword of the Spirit, and refuses to retreat. When the evil day comes, will you be sitting or soldiering? • For the Gospel's Sake
This sermon examines the Apostle Paul's motivation for surrendering his personal rights and liberties, identifying the advancement of the gospel as the primary driver. The central message emphasizes that true Christian service involves voluntary self-denial and cultural accommodation to reach lost souls, rather than compromising doctrinal truth. By contrasting Paul's flexibility with the immutability of God's word, the exposition highlights the distinction between wise adaptation and sinful compromise. The preacher urges believers to emulate Christ's example of humble servitude, prioritizing the salvation of others over personal comfort or preference. Ultimately, the call is for the church to be actively engaged in the mission of saving souls, recognizing that the gospel's power is best displayed when believers are willing to lay down their own rights for the sake of others.

  • The Making of A Man of God Part 1
Explore how to be a man of God in The Making of A Man of God Part 1, revealing the biblical marks of faithful discipleship and mentorship. In a world of spiritual compromise and false teaching, true sanctification requires faithful models. Pastor Richard Caldwell examines the profound relationship between the Apostle Paul and Timothy to reveal God's design for spiritual leadership. This expository sermon from 2 Timothy 3 demonstrates that preparing for ministry is a life-on-life endeavor rather than a mere academic exercise. Effective Christian mentorship involves observing a proven practitioner of the truth who remains steadfast under trial. Paul's life provided Timothy with a visible pattern of sound doctrine, enduring faith, and genuine love for the local church. Believers are reminded that enduring pastoral training requires submitting to older, wiser leaders who have been tested by the fires of real ministry. The Christian life is not meant to be lived in isolation. We must intentionally follow the pattern of faithful spiritual fathers who prioritize pleasing Christ above all else. Key Biblical Takeaways - True spiritual preparation requires personal mentorship from seasoned believers who model both sound doctrine and righteous conduct. - A faithful minister must possess an internal fuel of faith, patience, and love to sustain his ministry. - Enduring persecution and suffering is an unavoidable reality for those who boldly proclaim the truth and protect the flock of God. - Biblical discipleship demands intentional focus and a willing student who conforms to the teacher's example.
