We introduce a short series on prayer by looking at the examples of Martha and Mary. One chose to stay at Jesus' feet, and in doing so, she chose that good part. Truly, one thing is needful in this walk of life.

The book of Psalms concludes with five consecutive choruses meant for Praising the Lord- Psalms 146-150 all open and close with, -Praise ye the Lord-- should not our great God and wonderful Lord be praised both now and forevermore-- the answer is a most certain YES- PRAISE YE THE LORD.

In this penitential psalm, we see one go from the depths of despair to the heights of hope. The Lord will hear, and He will help- therefore, let His people hope-

In difficult days, and in trying times, God's people can reflect on the past and rejoice in the present because of God's faithful providence and mighty power to defend and deliver His own-

God's Word is said to be and should be seen to be a lamp and a light. By the light of the Scriptures, the darkness is removed and the danger of living life apart from God is clearly revealed. Will you walk in the light of HIs Word, and be the eternally better for it-

Psalm 119-97-104 is a passage which depicts a person's personal devotion to the Word of God. It begins with a love for God's law and ends with a hate for every false way. To love His Holy Word is to prefer God's way over our own. Those who love the Bible, will meditate upon its words and grow spiritually thereby.

This first stanza of the 119th Psalm describes the blessed man who is undefiled, or single-hearted in his desire, direction, and devotion for the Lord.

Psalm 115 gives forth God's reality over the vanity and foolishness of Idolatry.

Psalms 111 - 112 stand separate yet together as two verses in the same song, or two lines in the same poem. We are presented with a righteous man and his reflection of the Lord.

Psalm 104 presents us with the glorious thought of God and How great He is- There should be times of serious and scriptural contemplation of the Lord.
