  • TruthTalks (Sermons): Agabus – A New Testament Prophet

In this sermon, delivered at the Lonehill Village Church on Sunday 24th June 2018, I spotlight prophecy in the book of Acts and then extend the subject into the church of our day.
Although by no means a comprehensive Bible study, this message includes insights from Paul’s treatment of prophecy in 1 Corinthians 14.

  • TruthTalks: The Bible under Attack, Again. - TruthTalks – Truth Is The Word

Unfortunately, it’s not only atheists, secular agnostics and so on who denigrate the Bible, it’s also several well-meaning ‘Christians’.
Listen to Dr Christopher Peppler explore this topic in the latest TruthTalks summary and question and answer session.

  • TruthTalks (Sermon): Hezekiah - TruthTalks – Truth Is The Word

In this sermon (and I apologise for the not great audio quality in places) Dr Christopher Peppler looks at the life of Hezekiah. The first few minutes were not recorded, however, this is the background to the life of Hezekiah and describes what his father had done before Hezekiah became king. If you would like to read more about it you can at 2 Kings 1-20 and 2 Chronicles 28-30.
Like most stories of biblical characters there is no ONE point we can apply to our lives, but MANY points of interest we need to apply to our modern-life context.
It is astonishing how many similarities can be found in today’s society with that of one thousands of years ago. The story of Hezekiah is of a young king who reopened the desecrated and abandoned temple, restored, reformed and revived the worship of Almighty God… a sort of Old Testament day of Pentecost for the people of God.

  • Truth Talk (Sermon): Bezalel - TruthTalks – Truth Is The Word

Bezalel was an ordinary man who did something truly extraordinary – he crafted the tabernacle and everything inside it.
You don’t have to be a king or queen or ruler or anything other than “normal” to do something of immense significance. Last week Dr Christopher Peppler preached on this at the Village church, so if you would like to hear about the amazing life of Bezalel, then listen to this sermon below.

  • TruthTalks: What makes Christians so sure of their faith? - TruthTalks – Truth Is The Word

We are living in a world where many regard truth as a quaint concept with little practical relevance.
Yet, despite this, or perhaps because of this, people choose to become dogmatically committed to ideas that have little relationship to fact, logic, or divine revelation.
However, in this TruthTalk (a follow-up to last weeks “The Basis of our Certainty”) and subsequent Q&A, I explore the Christian sure basis for certainty.

  • Barnabas – son of encouragement - TruthTalks – Truth Is The Word

In this sermon, delivered at the Lonehill Village Church on Sunday 8th April 2018, I trace the life of Barnabas from Acts 4 to Acts 15.
Barnaba’s life is an example of how we should be encouragers instead of critics, but his story also contains vital truths concerning Christian leadership. In essence, all leaders, in church, ministry, business, or home, should give high priority to developing future leaders and releasing them into effective ministries.

  • TruthTalks – Dependence on the Holy Spirit - TruthTalks – Truth Is The Word

To be dependent on the Holy Spirit is firstly, to enable us to live Jesus-manifesting lives in terms of our witness, values, priorities and general life-styles (Fruit of the Spirit) and secondly, to enable us to minister to others, in the power of the Holy Spirit (Gifts of the Spirit).
Our dependence on The Spirit is not either for daily life or for spiritual ministry, but for both – fruit and Gifts.
This TruthTalk and its Q&A session is about what it means to be dependent on the Holy Spirit and how this relates to the authority of the BIble and the centrality of the Lord Jesus.

Dr. Christopher Peppler (a.k.a. Dad)  explores the topic of prayer in audio.
The first half of this recording is explanations, along with some further explorations, on the topic of prayer, and the second half is me (Karen Peppler) quizzing my dad on the subject.
I do hope I ask some of the questions you, as a listener, might ask, so do let me know if you have anything to add or offer.

  • Nicodemus at night - TruthTalks – Truth Is The Word

So many people in our day just do not grasp what Jesus meant when He said that in order to enter the Kingdom of God we must be Born Again. Nothing new here, because two thousand years ago, Nicodemus, the eminent Jewish scholar of his day, could not grasp this either.
Yet it is a vitally important concept and I believe that a failure to understand and respond to Jesus’ words to Nicodemus account for the many nominal Christians that fill churches all over the world.
I preached a sermon from John 3:1-5 titled ‘Nicodemus at night’ at the Lonehill Village Church on the 11th February 2018 and you can listen to it here:
Even if you don’t think this applies to you, I am sure you know folk who would benefit from listening to it… so share it, for ‘sharing is caring’
