Last week we started the "Captivated by Jesus" series. Below is the audio version of the post.

Last week, Dr Christopher Peppler wrote THIS POST about how Revelation 2 and 3 record seven letters that Jesus dictated to seven existing churches in Turkey. One of those letters was to Pergamum (AKA Bergame) and applies equally to us. Jesus outlines the conditions he found in the church of Pergamum and it is a reality that we need to look at in our churches, and ourselves, to this day.

Last week Dr Christopher Peppler opened his post on Pentecost and Babel with the following:

"...the Tower of Babel sheds wonderful light on the glory of Pentecost. My last article covered two important aspects of the Day of Pentecost: The memorial of the birth of the church and the celebration of the day that the Holy Spirit inhabited the church as the presence of God among men. The additional aspect of Pentecost I introduce in this article comes from a comparison of the Tower of Babel disaster with the triumph of Pentecost."

On Sunday he then expanded on this face to face (mask to mask) when he preached at Lonehill Village church.

Last week, Dr Christopher Peppler wrote about how we only need to look to Jesus as an example of ministering in THIS post. In today's TruthTalks podcast and audio file, he expands on the topic of walking in the footsteps of Christ.

I was reminded of the lovely "The Footprints Prayer" or "Footprints in the Sand" writing. I won't recreate it here but it was written in about 1936 and still applies today. You can look it up but in essence, the writer sees his walk with Jesus as footprints in the sand and notes that in the most difficult time he appeared to be walking alone. It ends with this statement:

 "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you, never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
