  • TWENTY-EIGHT and what does the future hold??

This episode is short and sweet. 28 years on this planet, and I of course had a few realizations that came with the birthday 😂

I know it can’t just be me that feels like I have to have my entire future planned out! My birthday reminded me, not only of the value I find in being with “my people,” but it also reminded me of their perspective of me and how it can be helpful to my growth. This episode tracks my thought process from “I’m a year older, what is my future going to be like,” to “How do I set more specific goals before I can wholeheartedly take steps toward my true goals and desires for my future?” I get into accepting change and finding ways to make little changes, rather than always having the “million dollar idea.” My whole life is not figured out, and yours doesn’t need to be either! So let’s learn how to flow through together! 🥰

You guys!! Episode 15 is here! A day later than usual, but hey, in true Trying Matters fashion, I decided to try something new and change up the show a little this week for this milestone episode. What's the new thing you ask? We have an interview for the very first time on the Trying Matters Podcast!

Today we are chatting with my absolute best friend, Lauren! We have been friends for 9 years, after meeting in the recruitment room in college. Lauren is a pediatric SLP, specializing in feeding and swallowing and language development. She is from Pineville, Louisiana where she just recently purchased her first home! She loves her fluffy, black cat, DeMarcus, and Taylor Swift more than anything in the world. Y’all are going to love her story and definitely feel like throwing your fears to the wayside once we’re through. We’re talking making the scary moves, relationships, and friendship, so grab your glass of wine and help me welcome my bestie girl, Lauren, to the show!

  • Is the downward spiral helping you or hurting you?

OOOO GIRL! This episode is that fire you've been needing! Judging by the title, I know it may not seem like a "GET PUMPED" episode, but lemme tell ya, it DEFINITELY IS! We all experience that downward spiral that has us feeling upset, defeated, or just straight up chaotic! In this episode, we're talking about why we experience the spiral, ways to get through it, and how to use it to our advantage. We're talking about our goals and truly digging into the excuses we make versus the actual obstacles that we face in the state of the spiral. Last week I told you to grab your glass of wine; this week, grab your shot glass and some tequila! We're getting really real again, but in a GET THAT SHIT DONE type of way!

Quote from Amoila Cesar: “Just ‘cause you’re tired doesn’t mean you quit, right? Keep Going! You never quit; this is a marathon, not a sprint. We don’t have to get a homerun today, right? Slow down, but don’t quit. Take a break, but don’t quit. Reassess, but don’t quit. Keep going, but don’t quit.”

  • friendSHIFTS

Ever experienced a friendship that just "fizzled out"? Ever experienced that moment when you feel like something is "wrong" in your friendship, but you're too scared to talk to your friend about it? This episode is for YOU! It doesn't matter what phase of life we're in; RelationSHIFTS are inevitable. In this episode, we're discussing those shifts we experience  when people we once were so tightly knit to, are drifting away. We're digging into the stories we may be telling ourselves and learning how to distinguish between when we should hold on and when it's time to let go to make room for that future bestie. Grab ya glass of wine girl; it's gonna get REAL!

  • Forgiveness

This is an emotional, raw conversation about the pathway to forgiving and seeking forgiveness. There’s definitely no holding back in this episode, like for real, heads up, the tears be flowin’! Forgiveness is rarely easy or simple. In this episode, we’re discussing the steps in forgiving someone who has hurt or “wronged” us, from the initial sting all the way through the actual forgiving of the person. We hit on the processing of feelings, identifying and naming the emotions we have associated with the event, and ways we can effectively discuss and repair the relationship with the person in which the conflict or offense occurred. Communication, pain points, enneagram, and relationships are a BIG focus of this episode. Can’t wait to hear what you think, friends!
