The ninth episode of the Trying To Be Wise with B Weiss podcast is with David Vanderveen.

 

David is the Founder and former CEO of XS, a global energy brand who generated over $2 Billion in revenue. He’s also a surfer, true life-liver, podcast host and a partner of Aaron Rodgers (yes the NFL Quarterback) via RX3 Ventures amongst other titles and achievements.

 

We talked about politics, to steal or not to steal Red Bull's customers, being an adventurous person, going bankrupt in your 20s, freediving, psychedelics, different mindsets for learning and creating a growth mindset, how judgements are an act of violence, memory, his morning routine, how to make a marriage last and oh-so-much more.

When you look at him, you may notice his gold teeth. There’s much more to Ryan than meets the eye.

 

He’s the kind of guy just about anyone could get along with. He also holds the world record for highest amount a skateboard set has ever been sold for (hint: over $800k).

 

While Ryan has paved his way with the brand Supreme, he’s had other successes as well. Currently, he’s working on growing his PPE business and his app, Trail Roulette. If you hike or mountain bike, Trail Roulette is a great way to map out your trail utilizing Augmented Reality.

Cory Gunz (IG: @corygunz174) … if you’re a real rap fan, you know him and are probably a fan. If you’re someone who likes rap, but just knows mainstream you may not know him but still have probably heard him. 6 foot 7 foot 8 foot bunch. 

Whether you already know who Cory is or have heard his song with Lil’ Wayne titled ‘6 foot 7 foot’ or neither, this podcast should shed more light and insight into his world. Think it will provide you with value too if you’re a dream chaser. 

He’s much more than a rapper whose signed to Lil’ Wayne. He’s a father, friend, dream chaser, good dude and more.

As for Cory’s rap career… he’s racked up millions of views online even before being signed to Lil’ Wayne and was (and is) well respected by those who appreciate lyricism. Jay Z and several other big names tried signing Cory before Cory decided to go with Lil Wayne’s Young Money.

We talked about everything from the journey to signing to Lil’ Wayne to recording process to sports to being a dad to his MTV show to politics to girlfriends to why he doesn’t release a lot of music and more.

Cory and I (Ben) met in Arizona in 2008, became friends and I helped book his concerts. More about that in the podcast too.
