That was it. Her first taste of the complete freedom that comes with defining and solving a problem! 

She's been chasing this high in the startup world ever since. As a multidisciplinary founder and design thinker, Claire has co-founded startups across legaltech, deathtech and femtech. 

Armed with curiosity and drawing on her experiences on the startup rollercoaster, she recently transitioned to the world of venture building - partnering with ambitious people to try-test-iterate-build new ideas.

We discover his journey to bring to life a concept that has not come without its challenges and obstacles, yet he remained steadfast in his pursuit.

The second annual TSIBA purpose-lived in London conversation recorded in June 2024 is shared here. In a profound conversation, our panel of remarkable leaders explore the theme of Purpose-Lived as a principal leadership dimension needed for the realisation of social and justice and the Global Sustainability Goals.

Professionally qualified in engineering with a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from the University of Cape Town, and in commerce with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), Regan Adams has experience with multiple global organizations - including BNP Paribas, the largest bank in France, one of the world's largest banks and owner of RCS.

Regan serves as Chief Executive Officer for RCS, as an executive director for various subsidiary RCS Boards, as Chairman for CapeBPO – the Western Cape industry body for offshoring focused on bringing international investors to the Western - and hence creating jobs for youth, He is a Trustee of Hillsong Africa Foundation, and a non-executive director of iHub Africa, an NPO innovation hub focused on training youth from disadvantaged backgrounds in digital marketing skills for employment. Regan's absolute passion for the development of young people led him to lead a partnership between RCS and TSIBA which has extended well over a decade.

Munouwarrah is a third-year Bachelor of Business Administration degree student at TSIBA Business School, an Allan Gray Orbis Fellow, co-founder of student society 'TSIBA Earth', the 2023 Chairperson of the TSIBA Student Representative Council (SRC), and a United Nations PRME Global Student Regional Leader in Africa. Underlying such remarkable accomplishments is a natural inclination to leadership and exceptionality as a human, as evidenced by her volunteer involvement with various NGOs such as Islamic Relief, Muslim Hands, CPUT MSA, Timeless Care 4 Seniors, and Gaffoor Charity. Munouwarrah's  Muno's vision of the future is an indomitable fervor for reshaping the status quo, made possible with an unyielding commitment to ensure that no individual or community is left behind, and an unshakable belief that through collective action we can effect meaningful, lasting change, and a brighter and more equitable future for all.

Monika Jiang
When our first purpose-lived podcast conversation with Monika Jiang took place in 2023 Monika was the head of content and community at the House of Beautiful Business. This podcast remains the most downloaded conversation on the TSIBA platform to date. In the time since, following five years with the House of Beautiful Business, a global platform and community to make business more beautiful, Monika felt called to explore 'the other side of community'. This has led Monika to an exploration of the theme of loneliness in a world where we’ve isolated ourselves from one another and where loneliness, paradoxically, holds the potential to draw us closer together again — despite our differences. With the sharing of our loneliness Monika writes, we create “third places” for dialogue, connection, and community.

Monica is a writer, facilitator, and community builder, driven by amor mundi, a love for the world as it is, with all its beauty and darkness. She is a highly intuitive, fantastical soul, temporarily unfinished and forever wanting to play, she reaches to the margins, asks essential questions, and gently steps into the reality of others to make more feelings known, more faces seen, more voices heard. Because another world is not only possible—it exists.

Camaren is an Associate Professor with the Allan Gray Centre for Values-Based Leadership at the Graduate School of Business and the Executive Head and Director of the Centre for Analytics and Behavioural Change (CABC), a non-profit organization established to track and counter mis- and disinformation and polarising, divisive rhetoric promulgated online to undermine social cohesion and democratic integrity. Camaren holds a cum laude BSc (Hons) degree in theoretical physics, an MSc in astrophysics and a PhD in Business Administration. His academic research and practice leverages complexity theory to tackle the grand challenges of the 21st Century. These range from political, technological and socio-cultural transitions and their implications, to powerful global change phenomena such as the fourth industrial revolution, urbanization, resource scarcity, ecosystem degradation and climate change. As an author, Camaren has published in both theory and practice and has worked with a variety of global institutions and organizations.

As the democracy project in South Africa reaches the three-decade milestone, the conversation on building and rebuilding Nelson Mandela's dream for South Africa remains relevant and critical. 

Madiba's leadership and legacy cannot be lost to history. Is the Mandela project still alive, how do we move forward, and 'what now' emerge as key themes in a conversation with a panel of remarkable South Africans from diverse background and age perspectives.

About Dr Nathalie Jean-Babtiste
Prior to joining the Julius Baer Foundation, Dr. Nathalie Jean-Baptiste (Nathalie) led an action research unit in East Africa for 4 years. Nathalie was a Marie Curie Global Fellow and worked for the last 15 years in research and project implementation. 

Nathalie is passionate about reducing inequalities, understanding urban vulnerabilities and leading positive urban transformation in the South. After graduating from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, Nathalie obtained her Masters degree in Urban Studies from the Bauhaus University and a Doctorate in Urban Planning and waste management.

Nathalie also has an extensive international background. Her work experience includes environmental education on organic waste management in Mexico and Australia; vulnerability assessment in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia and Tanzania; trans-disciplinary work in Germany as well as inequalities and urban transformation in Tanzania. Currently, Nathalie oversees 16 wealth inequality projects worldwide, she impulses social enterprises with a clear sense of purpose and she co-develops impactful projects in particular in Latin America and Africa.

A Farmer and  an Educator at heart with decades in school and tertiary education Dr Ayuk talks about teaching untraditionally, with authenticity, with abundance, with purpose, and beyond academic subject matter to enable young minds to find their own unique path.      

About Dr Peter Ayuk
With significant experience in Higher Education Management, especially in private higher education, Dr Peter Ayuk has led projects in curriculum and instructional design, performance management and quality promotion. Peter completed PhD in Higher Education Management at the University of Johannesburg in 2017, with specific concentration on organisational analysis and improvement. 

Dr Ayuk is currently the Academi Dean of TSIBA Business School.
