Ever been completely obsessed with someone you could never have? "Saving Aleah" is the song I wrote about that feeling. It was back in high school for me. Aleah was the prettiest and most popular girl, and I was unbelievably lucky to sit next to her in choir. You know that alluring sweet spot where the tenors meet the altos? That was us, musically and... well, in my head at least. She was taken, but in my teenage mind, he just didn't get her. "He could never love you like I do."

This song was initially only for myself to hear, but one day, our teacher assigned us a project to showcase an original piece of music. Feeling brave, I decided to perform Saving Aleah for her, and the entire class. Years later, I still remember when we got voted most likely to become famous, and her heartfelt yearbook letter to me. This song will have a different meaning for a lot of different people. The common denominator is the need to rid yourself of something you feel is controlling your life. This is an elegy to that dependency.

Dream Girl is an upbeat pop-punk-revival style song about finding that special someone in your life and telling them how you truly feel. You know that sensation of butterflies in your stomach? The thought of having finally met the perfect person to compliment your own life. It's simultaneously scary as hell and the most exciting feeling you've ever known. That's what inspired me to write Dream Girl.

When I was 16 I got to see Boys Like Girls on the Soundtrack Of Your Summer tour. Needless to say, it was amazing. I've always loved the song Thunder since I first heard it, back then there was only an acoustic version that seems hard to find these days. So this is my version, it's sort of half acoustic, half not. Hope you enjoy.
