TSN1040’s Jeff Paterson says you have to give Ian Clark a lot of credit for what we saw from Thatcher Demko in a Game 5 win & his first start in six months. Jeff says Clark puts in a ton of time with his goaltenders, gives them a lot of one & one attention & puts a lot of emphasis on attention to detail & ingraining good habits.

Doug Maclean says yes, the Canucks were outshot badly, but he loved the fact that Vegas didn’t get a lot of 2nd or 3rd chances because they are a team that thrives on getting those chances. Doug was also impressed with the play of Edler & Tanev & how they battled in the final two & a half minutes of the game.

TSN1040’s Jeff Paterson says it’s not about the resume, it’s about the here & now & Thatcher Demko has only played 8 minutes of hockey in the last 6 months. Jeff does say his confidence is high that Demko will rise to the occasion.

TSN’s Farhan Lalji says he has high confidence level in Thatcher Demko and believes that Demko will rise to the occasion of starting in a must-win game for the Canucks. Farhan says the key to winning Game 5 is to get some contribution on the scoresheet from the bottom six.

TSN1040’s Rick Dhaliwal says all last night and this morning, he’s hearing that Thatcher Demko will start Game 5. When it comes to Jacob Markstrom, Rick believes it’s two things with him: he’s fatigued & is dealing with a minor groin injury. Rick has been told that the Markstrom injury is a minor one.
