George Howard visited Michael Donnellan in Andalucia and came away with something he did not expect to find: published, peer-reviewed evidence in the marine geology literature that a major tsunami struck the Gulf of Cadiz at the same time Plato described the destruction of Atlantis.The field trip started with a road cut. Michael took George to a section of hillside excavated for a coastal road just behind the beach, where the exposed sediment face shows a deposit that is not striated, not layered in the way material accumulates gradually over time, but chaotic, mixed, full of broken shell fragments and material with the same chemical composition as the Rio Tinto river, which lies hundreds of kilometres away. Geologists who have analysed the deposit interpret it as material transported by a massive wave event, swept inland far enough to reach the Rio Tinto, then rebounding back down toward the coast. Across the street from that same cut, Michael showed George man-made placed stones embedded in the same ancient material. If the deposit is 10,000 to 12,000 years old, the stones inside it are at least that old.George then found a 2016 paper in Marine Geology by a Japanese team led by Yoshihiro Takashimizu, studying deep sea sediment cores from multiple locations in the Gulf of Cadiz, directly offshore from where Michael's scans have found what appears to be a circular destroyed city at 60 metres depth. Inside the normally uniform deep-water muds, at a site called U1390, the team found a distinctly anomalous sand layer 12 to 17 centimetres thick, 100 miles offshore, containing shell fragments, biogenic material, and an erosional lower boundary consistent with a massive wave sweeping material off the shore and out into deep water. The authors broadly dated the layer to the Younger Dryas. They were not trying to prove Atlantis. But the date, the location, and the physical signature are exactly what you would expect to find if a catastrophic wave destroyed a settlement on that coastline 13,000 years ago.George's read is direct: he has reviewed Michael Donnellan's scans in detail and considers them the best quality marine survey he has seen for a project of this kind. The Japanese paper was not looking for Atlantis and found tsunami evidence anyway. Jahannah James is back with four stories from the world of ancient history, science, and technology, and this episode is a good one.The lead story is a new paper on extraterrestrial nanoparticles at the Younger Dryas boundary from Wonderkrater, South Africa. Using updated individual particle analysis technology, researchers examined a narrow band of sediment dated to exactly 12,809 years ago and found nanoparticles at 4.6 times the concentration of the layers above and below, consistent with materials vaporised at extreme temperatures and condensed back together, the signature of an airburst or impact. A second population of particles in the same layer showed dust from distant sources mixed in simultaneously, suggesting atmospheric circulation was reorganised in an instant. Pollen analysis confirms a sharp temperature drop at the same moment. The significance is geographic: most previous Younger Dryas impact evidence came from the northern hemisphere, and this South African site suggests the event was not regional but global.NASA satellite scanning and ground penetrating radar have identified two ancient dried-up riverbeds that appear to correspond to the Pishon and Gihon, the two missing rivers described in Genesis 2 alongside the still-flowing Tigris and Euphrates. The four rivers converge at a point that would have been above water around 6,000 BC, at the edge of what is now the Persian Gulf, in a region that would have been considerably more lush and habitable than it is today. The scientists are not claiming to have found the Garden of Eden, only that the geographical description in Genesis lines up with a real location, and that there is a strong oral history of early human settlement in the area.A Roman surgical instrument for removing bladder stones has been discovered, and Jahannah's description of how it was used is accurate and appropriately horrifying. Pliny the Elder wrote at length about how painful bladder stones were in the ancient world, which helps contextualise why anyone would agree to this procedure.The final story is the one with the longest implications. The lost library of Herculaneum, buried when Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD and discovered in 1750 in a state too fragile to open, has now been partially read for the first time in two thousand years, using AI-assisted laser scanning developed at the University of Kentucky. The translated material includes philosophy, discussions of good and evil, and fragments from a philosopher named Philodemus. Most significantly, a previously known work called On Gods Book One had only one companion volume suspected. The new translations have found On Gods Book Eight, which means at least six more books about the Greek pantheon exist in the scrolls, and may yet be recoverable. Jim Viera has been in this game for thirty years, hosted shows for the History Channel, appeared on Ancient Aliens, and spent fifteen years working on a book that he freely admits sounds insane. Greg Maestro is a filmmaker, developer, and creative who ran towards AI when everyone else ran away, and whose contribution to the giants conversation started with a man in San Diego who said he used to have six fingers on both hands and six toes on both feet. Jim's point is that dismissing this requires dismissing the oral traditions of virtually every indigenous culture that exists, and that the academic sources doing the most interesting work on this, at Chaco Canyon, Teotihuacan, Palenque, and the 9,000-year-old shaman site in Jerusalem, are reaching the same conclusion: in the ancient world, extra digits were not a medical condition to be treated. They were a mark of the divine.His deeper argument is that giants do not fit within natural evolution, and that this is the point: the oldest creation traditions across the planet, Viracocha in Peru, the Anunnaki in Mesopotamia, and their equivalents everywhere else, describe giants as the products of engineering gods, terraforming wisdom-bringers, androgynous genetic architects who created them and then, in most traditions, destroyed them in a flood. In December 1980, US Air Force Sergeant Jim Penniston was dispatched from RAF Bentwaters into Rendlesham Forest after radar lost contact with a bogey over the base. He was authorised to deploy under the Status of Forces agreement, had his crash kit with him, and fully expected to find a downed aircraft. What he found instead has remained one of the most significant and most studied close encounter cases in the history of the UAP phenomenon.Jim walks Matt Barone through the full sequence: the laboured movement through the forest perimeter, like walking chest-deep in water, which dissipated as the craft came into view. Gabby Ensign is the author of Behind Every Sunflower, a starting point guide to vortex based mathematics, and she joins Becket Fusik ahead of her presentation at Tesla Tech in Albuquerque to walk through what the system is, where it comes from, and why the ancients may have been encoding it into stone for thousands of years.Vortex based mathematics was first developed by Marco Rodin in the 1970s, and the toroidal energy devices known as Rodin coils emerged directly from his mathematical discoveries. By the end of the episode, both threads are pointing at the same question: how much did the people who built these things actually know?Brad Klaussen is a graphic designer whose professional work, the arrangement of shapes and compositions, gave him a specific kind of pattern recognition that turned out to be directly applicable to ancient art. While researching brain anatomy online, he began recognising compositional structures he had seen in art history: the Venus of Willendorf, the ram sphinxes of Karnak, statues of Artemis of Ephesus, all organising their forms in ways that correspond to the sagittal cross section of the human brain. The precedent was already set in the academic literature: a 1990 paper in the Journal of the American Medical Association identified a human brain shape in Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling, and a 2007 response in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine found additional Renaissance examples. Brad has been extending that argument backward through history, into ancient Egypt and beyond, building the case that a specific class of artists across multiple cultures and millennia were encoding knowledge of brain anatomy into sacred imagery, not accidentally but deliberately, as a kind of textbook in stone, with the Temple of Luxor itself laid out on the proportions of the human body, the Holy of Holies positioned precisely where the brain sits.Gary Osborn's connection to the Rendlesham Forest case began when Jim Penniston contacted him about a recurring dream involving the figure 23.5 degrees, which Gary had been researching independently as the Earth's obliquity tilt angle. Penniston is the former US Air Force sergeant who investigated the landed craft at Rendlesham Forest in December 1980, touched the largest glyph on its surface, and received a binary transmission of ones and zeros directly into his mind. He kept the pages of binary code hidden in his notebook for years, removing them when others were around, until John Burroughs noticed them during filming for Ancient Aliens. The first five pages were decoded independently by Prometheus Entertainment and Linda Moulton Howe, with consistent results: phrases including exploration of humanity and coordinates pointing to seven locations on Earth, the first of which targets Hy-Brasil, a legendary island off the southwest coast of Ireland.
