The sacrifices we read about in the Old Testament are so primitive and messy. It’s hard to wrap our heads around these bloody demonstrations, but that’s just what they were: demonstrations. They didn’t actually achieve atonement for the people, they were just symbols of the spiritual activity that was taking place between God and His people. As Pastor Bill will explain in today’s message, these symbols all pointed to the ultimate demonstration of God’s love through His Son, Jesus.
