We launched on the 1st April 2018. Several people thought it was an April Fools gag, but we're still going 365 days later!

Mechanical Music Radio is FREE to listen to, and always will be. I don’t want to charge listening subscriptions, as I want Mechanical Music to reach new audiences and bring happiness to all.

In our first year, i’ve chosen not to charge a penny to any business, individual or event wanting exposure. I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to be heard.

Launching the station has been an extremely expensive time for me. Now, a year on, i’m having to renew all the licences for the various computer software, plus PRS, PPL and other broadcasting licences I need to transmit.

A special show celebrating the late George Cushing MBE, who founded the Thursford Collection in West Norfolk. George would have celebrated his 115th Birthday this week.

This episode featured all the instruments at Thursford, including rare recordings from Decca in the 1960's.

We heard Archive interviews from George Cushing, and his son John.

Resident Theatre Organist Robert Wolfe joined us on the phone for a chat.
