General Overview:
We move into Season Two of Ka Tuitui Malamalama podcast series presented by Kawaihuelani, Department of Hawaiian Language at Hawai’inuiākea, Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA) and Kanaeokana, the network of kula Hawai’i. Ka Tuitui Malamalama is focused on capturing the range of human experiences as expressed through the eyes and language of the people of Niihau.
Season Two podcasts are led and hosted by four younger generation Niihau kanaka. Our collective hosts are Ekolu Kelley, Kuulei Akeo, Malaki and Kalao Kanahele. These folks have since relocated to Kauai for the opportunities it presents and are afforded opportunities to return to Niihau for extended visits. Subscribers to the podcast will enjoy their authentic banter ridden conversations in olelo Niihau and are encouraged to glean insights into language use, communication dynamics, and cultural knowledge of poe Niihau.
