There are various components involved, and each requires gas turbine driven or electric motor driven compressors. The pair also address current events involved in gauging and limiting the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere. Cost, cost, cost is on everybody's mind, and is a major hurdle in solving the issue of bolstering LNG production levels.

In this TurboTime special, Myth Busters Klaus Brun and Rainer Kurz join us to tackle the myth that we can quickly make more liquid natural gas. Currently, the United States needs to see 2-3 million more compressor horsepower in the next 12-18 months to meet the current demand. The manufacturing limits imposed by these very long-lead machines make the current expectations on LNG production increases wholly unrealistic.
