It's nearly festive season, and it's time to celebrate. However, how many of us stop and think about the animals that we consume during these times?

In this episode, we want to focus on Thanksgiving and the use of turkeys. Firstly we give you some background on what Thanksgiving is, why it is celebrated, and how turkeys became the food of choice during this celebration.

We then talk about the life of a turkey in the wild vs their life in the factory farm where over 95% of turkeys come from. We discuss the conditions in the factory farms and also the human involvement in their exploitation.

We finish off with talking about the ethics around using animals in cultural and religious celebrations. We are not picking on Thanksgiving in this episode and it's important to note that many other cultures and religions use animals extensively in celebrations.
