The Akkadian Empire is one of the oldest civilizations we know of. Dating back to a few thousand years B.C., it presents itself with some archaeological finds, as well as long-forgotten mysteries and unanswered questions that will probably remain that way.

However, despite of the many secrets this advanced, vast empire holds, it could definitely be worth our time to explore some of the things we do know. We can learn about their language, their government, and, as far as we have sources, about their economy, art, culture, and religion. If a study of that nature sounds like its a good match for your own curious nature, then I invite you to pay attention to and get this brief guide on the Akkadian Empire.

    Publisher: Findaway Voices

    Genres: Non-Fiction, Philosophy

    Summary:

Ive written a number of books about legendary beings such as Bigfoot, Dragons, Thunderbirds, Sea Monsters, Giants, and more. I also wrote a book titled The Mythical People of Ireland which covered the Tuatha Da Danann,Druids, and Leprechaun elves. The information I found for that book caused me to become more curious about the little people generally.

There are legends of the Little People all over the world. Even more interesting is that a race of very small people who were close to three feet tall were uncovered recently in Indonesia. This race is called the Flores Man and was of a similar size to the beings in many of the legends of the little people.

This find is amazing because none of the other legendary beings have confirmed evidence of those little people in archeological sites. These findings add a lot of credibility to those old legends.

In this book we cover these little beings from different areas of the world. This includes where they came from, stories about them possibly coming from different dimensions, and stories about sightings of them.

Hope you enjoy this adventure into what seems like it might be a real race of intelligent legends.

Genres: Thriller & Horror, Espionage, International Mystery

    Summary:

An escapade of stolen treasure, with deadly consequences.

As part-time operatives, Conor McBride and Kate Chatham are trained for unexpected developments, but their current troubles have nothing to do with undercover work. Overwhelmed by meddling relatives, an engagement party they didnt want, and their own short tempers, theyd welcome any stress-relieving antidote. They just didnt expect it to appear in the form of stolen treasure, buried in a bloody mound of snow on a deserted back road.

Their startling discovery quickly turns to unstoppable escapade, and unlike others Conor barely lived through, it feels like a Sherlock Holmes caper more than any MI6 enterprise. In pursuit of an unknown thief, the mystery sends him north to the border, teamed with a deceptively folksy police chief, and a sergeant from the Royal Canadian Mounties whos keen for the adventure. While they follow a trail of clues into the mountains of Quebec, Kate remains in Vermont, working with an eccentric gem expert and two FBI agents to identify the treasure and its owner.

The game is afoot and every bit the distraction they wished for, but as Conor chases their elusive thief up the St. Lawrence Seaway and into the teeth of a blizzard, the whispered warnings of his sixth sense are proving once again prophetic. Their escapade is turning deadly, looking more like an MI6 mission, after all. Now, he and Kate will need all their operational skills to finish what they started, and to make it home alive.

    Summary:

Born in Paris,Jean-Paul Sartre(1905-1980) was largely raised by his mother and his maternal grandparents after his father died when he was two. He attended the renowned École Normale Supérieure, where he studied psychology, philosophy, ethics, sociology, and physics. In 1929, he met Simone de Beauvoir, who went on to become a celebrated feminist writer and philosopher, with whom he had a lifelong intellectual and romantic relationship. After serving briefly in the French army during World War II and spending nine months as a prisoner of war, Sartre lived under the Occupation in Paris, where in 1943 he wrote his best-known philosophic work,Being and Nothingness, one of the foundational texts of existentialism. Following the war, and for the rest of his life, Sartre was deeply engaged in left-wing, anti-colonialist politics, while producing a prodigious number of plays, novels, philosophical works, and critical essays. With the popularization of existentialism in the 1960s, Sartre became a household name, and his celebrity (or notoriety) was heightened in 1964 when he declined the Nobel Prize in Literature.

InSimply Sartre, ProfessorDavid Detmertells the story of Sartres life and work, focusing on the contemporary relevance of his ideasideas that maintain their power to inspire, entertain, enlighten, and enrage.
