In this episode on the TVC Podcast, we are excited to have on as our next guest, the 37th Commandant of the United States Marine Corps and retired General, Robert B. Neller
A native of East Lansing, Michigan, Robert graduated from the University of Virginia and was commissioned in 1975. He served as an infantry officer at all levels, including command of Marine Security Force Company Panama during Operation Just Cause and Operation Promote Liberty; 3rd Light Armored Infantry Battalion during Operation Restore Hope; 6th Marine Regiment; and 3rd Marine Division.
Robert also served as deputy commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2005-2007; assistant division commander for 1st and 2nd Marine Divisions; and president of Marine Corps University. His Joint assignments include service in the Policy Division of Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Casteau, Belgium, and as director of operations (J-3) of the Joint Staff in Washington, D.C.
Robert is a graduate of the Armor Officer Advanced Course, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, NATO Defense College, and the Armed Forces Staff College. He holds a master’s degree in human resource management from Pepperdine University.
Robert is a proven transformational leader and change agent, with over 44 years leading and managing military organizations worldwide. Effective thought leader and communications specialist on managing change in complex and rapidly evolving environments.
A wealth of experience in the day-to-day operations of complex multi-billion dollar operating units, to include developing and executing strategies, assessing risk, continual resource management and investments. A tested leader, who has operated at the highest levels of national leadership, with extensive problem framing and solving skills deployed successfully under stressful conditions and within heightened risk environments. Effective agent for positive organizational and cultural change priorities.
He also sits on a number of boards, provides corporate consulting services and does speaking engagements to motivate, inspire and transform organizations.
