At 54, Eduardo and Spencer are still getting to know themselves. After more than 20 years focused on work, family, and climbing the ladder, they’re finally making more room to reflect, explore, and figure out what makes them happy.
In this episode, the vatos talk about rediscovering themselves in midlife, trying new things, and giving themselves permission to enjoy life a little differently. Spencer shares his early attempt at writing a country song (one stanza down, twang still in progress 🤠), while Eduardo talks about wearing his Stormtrooper armor to bring smiles to kids and families at the hospital. They also revisit a memorable Whataburger Jr. confession and wonder when everyone started calling them “sir.”
Some moments are thoughtful, others are downright hilarious—but that's life. Maybe getting older isn't about having everything figured out. Maybe it's about finally giving ourselves permission to explore who we are and enjoy the ride.
What are you just now discovering about yourself?

Pónganse trucha.
Remember when everything felt like a big deal? Your hair had to look perfect, your clothes had to be sharp, your car stereo had to bump, and you always had to get the last word. 😂
In this episode, Eduardo and Spencer talk about the things they used to worry about that just don't matter as much anymore. From looking good and proving a point to taking every comment personally, they reflect on what happens when we stop sweating the small stuff and start choosing our battles.
Maybe getting older means realizing you don't have to win every argument, impress everybody, or take everything to heart. Sometimes the best thing you can do is laugh it off, let it go, and save your energy for what really matters.
So, vatos, what used to push your buttons that barely gets a reaction out of you today? And what are you still learning to let go of?

Pónganse trucha—and don't take it personally!
We all have things we want to do someday. Travel to Italy and stand in front of some of the world's greatest works of art. Publish a book with a big-time New York press. Take that trip, learn that skill, or finally pursue the dream we've been carrying around for years. But what if someday is just another way of putting things off?
In this episode, Eduardo and Spencer talk about their bucket lists—and why these dreams aren't just pie-in-the-sky fantasies. They're achievable goals, but they take planning, effort, and a willingness to start now. Why wait until retirement to start having fun? Why keep postponing the experiences that make life worth living? Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift. That's why they call it the present.
So, make that bucket list. Dream big or small, but dream. But don't leave everything for some faraway future that may never arrive. Pick one thing and take the first step. Someday isn't a date on the calendar. Start living now. And don’t forget, pónganse trucha.

The act of creation is powerful. A painting. A song. A story. A meal. A dance. A podcast. Anything that comes from our imagination and carries a little bit of us into the world is a good thing. In this episode, Eduardo and Spencer talk about their own struggles to make time for art, writing, and creativity—and why they never regret the time they spend creating. It takes effort to make something, but there is something deeply satisfying about seeing an idea become real. Brené Brown says that “Sharing our gifts and talents with the world is the most powerful source of connection with God.” Afterall, it was God himself who spends the first six days in Genesis creating the heavens, the earth, man, woman, and all the creatures of the sea, land, and sky. And after each day, he said, “it was good.”
Go create and pónganse trucha. 🎙️

Getting fit takes time. Dressing well takes money and some fashion sense. But smelling good? That's an easy win.
In this episode, Eduardo and Spencer talk about one of the simplest ways a man can make a great first impression: smelling good. You don't need to spend a fortune on cologne or bathe yourself in half the bottle. You just need to know how to find a fragrance that fits you, how much to wear, and when to wear it. Let's face it: a great scent gets noticed. The right fragrance can boost your confidence, make you feel more put together, and leave a memorable impression long after you've walked away.
So put down that bottle of mystery musk. Eduardo and Spencer break down the basics of choosing a masculine fragrance, smelling your best, and adding one more little advantage to your game.
Smell good. Feel good. Pónganse trucha.

Where do you go when you need to find yourself again?
The Spanish word querencia describes a place where we feel at home—a place and its people that give us a sense of safety, belonging, and peace. In this episode, Spencer shares his own querencia and the place he goes when he needs to recharge, reflect, and recover his sense of self. But what happens when you can't easily get away—or don't have a special place to go?
Eduardo offers another perspective: your querencia doesn't have to be somewhere you travel to. You can create it right where you are. It might be a quiet practice like making art, working on a creative project, or simply detailing your car while listening to good music and letting the world disappear for an afternoon.
Because taking care of yourself isn't selfish. We all need places, people, and practices that nourish us. Find what brings you home to yourself. Find your querencia.
And hey vatos... remember, pónganse trucha.

We've all lost something. We've all wanted something we couldn't have. But what if the thing you long for most is something you already had and gave up?
In this episode, Eduardo and Spencer dive into one of the most powerful moments in The Odyssey—the haunting song of the Sirens—and why Christopher Nolan's film inspired a deep convo where the vatos get vulnerable. We talk honestly about the relationships we've lost, the fears we've carried, and the lessons we've learned from life's hardest moments. It's an honest plática about facing your past without letting it define your future.
Sometimes the sirens aren't calling us toward something new. They're calling us back to something we've already lost.
So, hey vatos... ¡Pónganse trucha!
