Finishing university is the start of your life, not the end.
Neetu Bains (@neetukbains and @thehappyplace.jpg) is back on the pod! Today's episode discusses how to thrive post-grad and breaks down the common fears people face in their 20s - pressure to find your life's passion, become a millionaire by 30 and have your life 'figured out' immediately. Neetu's 'stop and smell the roses' philosophy is a breath of fresh air in this stress-ridden world. Enjoy <3

Twenty Something is a podcast on croissants, cappuccinos and corporate life. Documenting pre-retirement, and proving — once and for all — that brunettes have more fun. On this podcast I discuss the finer things in life, what makes for happiness, the little things that make life more beautiful and how I'm becoming the ultimate version of myself. The preface is to document lessons to my future daughter, as an audio journal. Hope you like and enjoy.
P.s. if you're reading this, say hi in the reviews section.
In this episode, Slovakian model Mia Gasko (@miagasko) and I sit down to discuss the differences in lifestyle between Europe and North America - two completely different cultures. Both having grown up spending time in eastern Europe, now living in Canada, we have one foot in two doors. Juicy girl talk topics as usual: Style, men, diet culture, social life & dating, professional opportunities, where more money can be made, reminiscing about Parisian nights and much much more.
Sit down with an espresso and a cigarette and listen in on our girl talk xx

This week on Twenty Something, I’m joined by Thomas Paterson and Julian Mejia (@mejiajulian9) for an all-encompassing conversation about fitness and bodybuilding. We talk about the biggest mistakes made by beginners in building muscle, the importance of diet & protein as a core macronutrient, whether you should track your calories, how to overcome a plateau, vitamins & supplements, mind-muscle connection and the mental health benefits of exercise. Most importantly, we break down the misconceptions about ‘getting bulky’ that hold many women back from lifting heavy weights and properly fuelling their bodies.

Once you sign the job, you have to actually do the job.
In episode 10, we talk about how to succeed in your summer internship. While I focus on consulting internships, these tips can be applied to any level of job in a professional services firm (law, investment banking) or other corporate role. We talk about how to prepare for an internship, make a good first impression, appear more organized and various ways to take initiative to stand out from other candidates. Lastly, we talk about how to gain visibility to senior leadership and the benefits of being a social butterfly. Internships can be stressful and high-pressure, but with the tips I've accumulated over two summer internships and numerous conversations you'll be on track to get a sign-back offer with ease. The key: Work smarter, not harder.

As you travel solo, being completely responsible for yourself, it is inevitable that you will discover just how capable you are. A 10-minute rant that covers all the reasons your twenties are the best time to travel alone. This episode aims to convince you of two things: (1) Travel in your twenties, as much as possible, and (2) do it alone. I’ve been going on solo trips since I was 16 years old and at 22, they're still my favourite. Sneak peek: A switch up in environment can spark revolutionary ideas, you build confidence, are not reliant your friends following through on plans, you have time to reflect and you may end up finding your dream city.
Enjoy this short little episode, like a shot of ouzo <3

Welcome back to Twenty Something! In this episode, Neetu (@neetukbains) and I have a candid conversation about physical and mental self care. Topics include: Skincare (how your diet affects your skin & foods that break you out), morning routines, making time for fitness, beauty sleep and our comfort foods. We talk about the pillars of mental self-care: How to find balance between work and social life, protect your peace, learn to say no, the power of journalling and keeping a close circle of friends.

In today's solo episode, I'll share the tips I've learned that will help you set and achieve your goals consistently. We'll talk about the difference between goals & systems and why you need both; why New Year's resolutions fail; the importance of setting specific, quantifiable goals and writing them down.
As a bonus, I share my personal goals for 2022: My health goals, career & financial goals, lifestyle goals and the systems I put in place to make them happen.
