Hedgiee, an Undocu-artist, uses his art to reclaim his humanity and make his community visible.

In this episode, Hedgiee talks about his lived experience of being an undocumented college graduate and how his experiences drive his desire to create a space for undocumented artists to gain visibility and share their work.

Hedgiee also speaks to his range of artwork, from illustration, to photography, to poetry, and his goal to humanize both himself and the undocumented community by creating symbolic works that speak to disrupting systems built upon oppression and dehumanization.

This episode features Celestine Pueringer of Create Laser Arts, an artist-run studio based in South Minneapolis. They produce their own collection of consciously-crafted home goods and jewelry with the intent of bringing joy to daily life. Stacey Combs of stace of spades is a fine artist and illustrator whose colorful works highlight pop art, local musicians, body positivity, and social justice.  She aims to draw attention to the unfairness of outdated social norms.
