Hey Thrive Tribe!
It's time to put the bags down. In this episode we discuss how much we pick up and carry that weighs us down and actually stops us twin mamas from moving forward in our purpose and desires.
Carrying the bags to some degree makes us think we are in control, but reality is some things are out of our control. And the more we carry the less space we have for the things we actually need.
So let it go! Mama, let it all go and let God carry your bags and give you rest. Listen in for the 5 practical steps to make this happen.

Welcome back Thrive Tribe!
This episode explains why being Supermom really isn't the compliment people think it's meant to be.
Listen in to hear my own "supermom" moments that really just left me tired and burned out and how I strive to thrive as a mom instead of be super.

Hey hey Thrive Tribe!
My session with Dr. Sharita Gaskins-Tillett was nothing short of insightful. I gleaned so much from the Boss Lady Dream Builder founder’s wisdom and progressive view of Self-Care.
We have been socialized as moms to be all things to everyone but ourselves. Our minds have a way of sabotaging us and lying to us that everyone else we care about matters more than us.
Did you know that just because you think it doesn't mean it's true? It is so important that we learn to investigate our thought patterns because our lives take the shape of our thoughts and decisions. Dr. Sharita challenges women and moms to constantly give ourselves to change, to evolve.
Dr Sharita runs ‘’A weekend for me’’ retreats that help women reinvent themselves and innovate ways that will continuously improve their lives. She emphasizes the need for a like-minded community that should push you to become the greatest version of yourself. As you improve yourself, so does everything about you. Refuse to settle.

Hey Thrive Tribe!
Self care is not an option, it’s an obligation. And it's time to be radical with it.
Mamas this is especially for you, you owe it to you family to give them the best of you. But you can’t do that unless you are intently and radically caring for yourself first.
I’ve been saying this for forever the real definition of self care is what you can consistently do every day not just a weekly or biweekly pick me up (which is fleeting btw)
Even though #InternationalSelfCareDay has passed, I want to remind and encourage you that YOU need care also.
The World Health Organization recommends that Self-Care should be practiced 24 hours a day and 7 days a week?

Wondering what is involved in radical self care and how can you implement it daily?

You can conquer your life
!In my years as a woman, professional mom, and wife, I have realized that we almost always lose ourselves, thanks to the ever-happening life seasons and demands. Many times, we seem not to have our lives, health, and wellness together.
The major shift came after I sunk into undiagnosed post-partum depression after my twins. From the mom who had her well-fitting jeans with her life and career going, to a mom-of-four suddenly trying to figure out how to get through just one day. I thought the experience was going to be seamless like it had been with the other two. But no...
The duplicity of twins took an emotional toll on me. I had help all around me but couldn't ask because I was trying to be supermom...Superwife, Super-physician, without breaking. Lie!
My health spiraled downwards, and I found myself faced with a chronic illness that required steroid injections and multiple doctor visits. The doctor in me hated this so much, and don't get me started about the cost.
I couldn't be fully present for myself and the kids. My life became cyclic. I had to make the tough decision to take charge of my health, and life in general, otherwise it would control my entire life.
But how was I to do that?
I had to confront the limiting beliefs and thoughts, and the norm I had allowed to dictate my life, family, and career. I had to shift focus to what I needed...To operate with a full cup to pour into my days and my people. I had to be my number 1...Not a by-the-way, because I couldn't pour empty.
I became a radical proponent of self-care...Not the usual bubble bath, shopping spree, mani-pedi, etc...But daily practices that fill your cup inwardly, not externally.
It took a behavioral change; I taught myself to be a morning person, embracing mental, spiritual, and physical fitness. It made me feel great that I could now do things I previously thought I couldn't do. I created new habits that were building me up at multiple levels.
What will it take for you to take charge of your life?
What do you need to do?I am offering a 6-week program that will be the start of the change you want to see. You will join a thriving, vibrant, community, that will keep you accountable as you make these all-important life changes.

Hey Thrive Tribe,
Today's episode is a continuation of last episode. Dr. Dee provides the basis of healing her season of depression and introduces the concept of carrying a backpack of bricks to portray when we take on all the problems that exist around us (including our own).
Dr. Dee breaks the down the healing process she has utilized into 3 components:

What does it mean to be grateful for what we have? Does gratitude only find expression when we suspend everything else and focus on the gift of children and/or family?
I have come to believe and live the reality that I can have both and operate in full gratitude and full pursuit of becoming the best version of myself, especially professionally. Many of us live in the 'box' that if we are one thing, we cannot be another. Yet, we are equipped to become the very best that God created us to be.
You are free to enjoy your profession of choice and seek to attain the highest level of excellence in your line. Imagine what a disservice it is to your children if you live a life that's way below your capacity.
Feel free to share your thoughts. Let's engage.

Show notes - New book podcast
What do Twins, Sleep, and a professional Twin Mom have in common? 😅🎉
Mamas, this week's episode is the ultimate treat. I get to host two incredible moms who collaborated to write ''The New Born Twins Sleep Guide.' Finally feels like we're not a by-the-way in all those parenting books and blogs. These women have outdone themselves, and they share their experiences, and how they have overcome the challenges to raise kids and thrive in their professional careers?
Sleep deprivation is, no doubt, one of the reasons for our overwhelm. While every mom's dream is to have their child sleep through the night, we also need to manage our expectations on how twins/children of every age sleep achieve this. Understanding that will help you and your family navigate the journey of getting your twinnies to sleep, while keeping you sane through the process.
Sleep training twins does not have a one-size-fits-all and this book contains unique and tailor-made guides for you and your duals. Amazingly, you'll find an exciting chapter on self-care in there, which could not have been better placed, me thinks.
Join Kim, Natalie Diaz of Twiniversity, and myself as we talk about all things twins, sleep, and our professions in the latest episode. Please give us a 5-star review and share with a friend. 😊
Enjoy!
