How did the Lord quell Israel's grumbling?

1. The Lord requested their participation.

2. The Lord revealed his preference.

Korah and others grumble against the authority of Moses and Aaron - many receive swift judgement, but many are also shown mercy - through the intercession of Aaron.

How does unbelief act?

1. Unbelief rejects God's plan.

2. Unbelief rejects God's people.

Because God fulfills His promises to His people, Christians must fear God not man.

Christians must fear God not man in our world-view.

Christians must fear God not man in our self-view.

How does the Lord defend Moses?

1. The Lord questions.

2. The Lord chastens.

How do we live under God's providence?

• Remember where we were

• Remember where we are

• Remember where we're going

Therefore: Because God's providence is always good, we must remember our past,

present, and future under His providence.

Because God is among us, we must be consecrated to Him.

1. We must be consecrated to Him externally (v. 1-12)

2. We must be consecrated to Him internally (v. 13-21)

Since the Bible records the history of the Exodus generation for our instruction, we must take heed.

1. The Exodus generation received Gospel benefits.

2. The Exodus generation rejected Gospel belief.

How do we protect ourselves from drifting? By being familiar with the three things that block our memory.

1. Prosperity dulls us to our knowledge of God.

2. Egocentricity puts self above God.

3. Idolatry puts other things in God’s place.

Five times in this Scripture is the Lord, your God. A reminder of hope, for hope is only in your relationship with God.

Since the Church prospers when believers share the work, we must share the work.
