Welcome to the Manor! Join us as we discuss if the lads and lasses from Halloween Town and their movie should be watched at Halloween or at Christmas. We're sure the answer will surprise no one.
Next week's episode is about Algernon Blackwood's winter time spooky story "The Glamour of the Snow."

Welcome to Thanksgiving at the Manor! Pull up a chair and get ready to dig into popcorn, toast, and jelly beans (which is something we'll talk about next year -- foreshadowing, dun dun dun!). I wonder what goes better with that repast, stout or mead? Guess we'll have to find out within the next 365 days.
But we digress (sorry for the tangent). This year we're talking about the Arlo Guthrie song that's played every year on classic rock stations (and formerly on current rock stations when, you know, the songs were current), "Alice's Restaurant." We talk about the song, it's story, and a wee bit of context, so get ready to drink with us!
Next week's episode is about a certain move that could be either for Halloween or for Christmas, so we're putting it out just after Thanksgiving. That's who we are... MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Welcome back to the Manor! Join us as we discuss songs from the '70s, '80s, and '90s that are folk rock (it is Friday the 13th after all, heh heh heh), even though they weren't meant to be. Yes, we'll get into our reasons, even giving some counter-examples! Hooray!
Next week's episode is a Thanksgiving episode on Alice's Restaurant and Charlie Brown/Peanuts.

Welcome to the Manor, where the clocks and mirrors are draped with striped black. A month ago today the world lost one of the greatest guitarists ever to grace its green face, when Eddie Van Halen passed away. Join us as we pay tribute to Eddie and discuss what we loved about him and the band in general. Cheers, Eddie!
Next week's episode is "Unintentional Folk Rock."

By the pricking of our thumbs... we have something to cure that. Alcohol and talking about spooky, creepy carnivals! Along with another "B Author" talk, where we get into Ray Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes," we'll give other film, television, and musical suggestions for dark carnivals.
So join us in the last Halloween episode of 2020! Or is it? MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!
Next week's episode is a tribute to Eddie Van Halen - we talk Edward and our favorite VH album each.

Welcome to the Manor's haunting Halloween happenings! This special episode is just a nice stroll down the avenue of animated shows. Halloween shows that we watch, whether annually, every few years, or even just once because they aren't out anymore.
Next episode is about dark and creepy carnivals, including Ray Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes."

Welcome back to the Manor and to more Halloween haunted horror happenings. This time we get into Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," as 2020 marks the 200th anniversary of that great book. We also discuss adaptations, such as the Disney/Bing Crosby version, as well as related music.
Plus, the overlap of the headless horseman with the Wild Hunt! Hoorah!
So go dance a jig with Katrina and then listen to our show.
Next episode is about our favorite Halloween animated shows.

Welcome back to the Manor! Enjoy a special extra mid-week Halloween season episode. Last year, Jody and I went to a wonderful place called Doughnuts and Dragons, where we played a spooky card game called Gloom and also enjoyed tasty doughnuts and wonderful brews. We saved the episode for this Halloween season.
It is the last of our live recordings and was taken on James' phone, so much like the other live shows, it's not the best quality, but we still enjoyed doing it.
Next episode comes out Friday and is on the 200th anniversary of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," by Washington Irving.

Welcome back to the Manor and our October spookfest! One of our last live episodes (at least until we figure out how to do them without all the background noise) gets into Fantasmagoriana, a collection of German ghost stories printed by the French. Fun, huh!? No, it's spooooooky...
Next week's episode is about... ha! This Friday's episode is about Algernon Blackwood and two of his quite spooky stories.
