Story Transcript:

Sl: Matjaž in Katja sta se ves današnji dan veselila pohoda na Veliko Planino.
En: Matjaž and Katja spent the entire day looking forward to their hike on Velika Planina.

Sl: Jesen je bila čudovita, z zlatimi listi, ki so prekrivali tla.
En: Autumn was beautiful, with golden leaves covering the ground.

Sl: Matjaž je že mnogokrat hodil po teh poteh, dobro jih je poznal.
En: Matjaž had walked these paths many times and knew them well.

Sl: Katja pa je želela prvič doživeti lepote narave stran od vrveža mesta.
En: Katja, on the other hand, wanted to experience the beauty of nature away from the city's hustle for the first time.

Sl: Zjutraj sta se zbrala na začetku poti.
En: In the morning, they met at the start of the trail.

Sl: Matjaž je nosil nahrbtnik, poln potrebščin, Katja pa je uživala v zvokih gozdnega vetra.
En: Matjaž carried a backpack full of essentials, while Katja enjoyed the sounds of the forest wind.

Sl: "To je moja najljubša pot," je dejal Matjaž, ko sta začela hoditi.
En: "This is my favorite path," Matjaž said as they began to walk.

Sl: "Videla boš najboljše prizore.
En: "You will see the best views."

Sl: "Ko sta nadaljevala, je pot postajala strmejša.
En: As they continued, the path became steeper.

Sl: Katja se je trudila slediti hitremu tempu.
En: Katja struggled to keep up with the fast pace.

Sl: Njene misli so bile polne občudovanja do Matjaževe vzdržljivosti.
En: Her thoughts were filled with admiration for Matjaž's endurance.

Sl: "Lahko zmorem," si je večkrat ponovila, medtem ko je poslušala šumanje dreves in ptičje petje.
En: "I can do this," she repeated to herself, while listening to the rustling of the trees and the birds singing.

Sl: A nenadoma je Katja nerodno stopila.
En: But suddenly, Katja stepped awkwardly.

Sl: "Auu!
En: "Ouch!"

Sl: " je zakričala.
En: she screamed.

Sl: Zvok je odmeval med drevesi.
En: The sound echoed among the trees.

Sl: Matjaž se je takoj obrnil.
En: Matjaž immediately turned around.

Sl: Katja je sedela na tleh in si držala gleženj.
En: Katja was sitting on the ground, holding her ankle.

Sl: "Mislim, da sem ga zvila," je rekla žalostno.
En: "I think I twisted it," she said sadly.

Sl: Oba sta vedela, da mora biti Matjaž zdaj zelo preudaren.
En: They both knew that Matjaž needed to be very cautious now.

Sl: Pogledal je okoli sebe in hitro ocenil situacijo.
En: He looked around and quickly assessed the situation.

Sl: "Brez panike," je šepnil, medtem ko je iz nahrbtnika hitro potegnil trak in nekaj suhih vej.
En: "Don't panic," he whispered, as he quickly pulled out a band and some dry branches from his backpack.

Sl: Previdno je izdelal opornico za Katjin gleženj.
En: Carefully, he made a splint for Katja's ankle.

Sl: "Saj bo," jo je skušal pomiriti.
En: "It'll be okay," he tried to reassure her.

Sl: "Mobitel ne lovi signala," je ugotovil, ko je poskusil poklicati za pomoč.
En: "The cell phone doesn't have a signal," he realized as he attempted to call for help.

Sl: "Moramo se vrniti.
En: "We need to go back."

Sl: " Katja je pokimala, čeprav je bila razočarana.
En: Katja nodded, although she was disappointed.

Sl: Pot do bližnje pastirske koče je bila dolga, a Matjaž je ni pustil sami.
En: The path to the nearby shepherd's hut was long, but Matjaž didn’t leave her alone.

Sl: Ko se je začelo temniti, sta zaslišala oddaljeno zvonjenje.
En: As it began to get dark, they heard a distant ringing.

Sl: "Pastirji," je rekel Matjaž z olajšanjem v glasu.
En: "Shepherds," said Matjaž with relief in his voice.

Sl: "Počakaj tu, Katja.
En: "Wait here, Katja.

Sl: Hitro bom nazaj.
En: I'll be back quickly."

Sl: "Tekel je proti zvoku in kmalu naletel na pastirja, ki je bil pripravljen pomagati.
En: He ran towards the sound and soon found a shepherd willing to help.

Sl: "Pridemo po njo," je obljubil starec.
En: "We'll come for her," the old man promised.

Sl: Kmalu so vsi skupaj hodili nazaj, Matjaž je nosil težje stvari, pastir pa je podpirala Katjo.
En: Soon, they were all walking back together, Matjaž carrying the heavier items, while the shepherd supported Katja.

Sl: "Zahvaljujoč tebi smo varno zmogli," je rekla Katja, ko so končno prišli do koče.
En: "Thanks to you, we made it safely," Katja said as they finally reached the hut.

Sl: Tam sta preživela noč na toplem, počasi srkajoč vroč čaj.
En: There, they spent the night warm, slowly sipping hot tea.

Sl: Naslednje jutro je bilo lepo in jasno.
En: The next morning was beautiful and clear.

Sl: Matjaž je pogledal Katjo, ki je zdaj hodila z opornico.
En: Matjaž looked at Katja, who was now walking with the splint.

Sl: "Hvala, ker sem bil potrpežljiv," je rekla.
En: "Thank you for being patient," she said.

Sl: "Tudi jaz sem se nekaj naučila.
En: "I also learned something.

Sl: Zmorem več, kot sem mislila.
En: I can do more than I thought."

Sl: "Matjaž se je nasmehnil.
En: Matjaž smiled.

Sl: "Morda je čas, da drugič načrtujem bolj previdno," je priznal.
En: "Maybe it's time for me to plan more carefully next time," he admitted.

Sl: "Samo narava ima svoje načrte.
En: "Nature has its own plans."

Sl: "V čarobni lepoti Velike Planine sta se odpravila nazaj proti dolini, bogatejša za eno posebno izkušnjo.
En: In the magical beauty of Velika Planina, they set off back towards the valley, richer for one special experience.
