Me and this band go back many years, Twister I've seen them at their best and probably their worst...sleeping in a parking space, buried beneath their sleeping bags I did have to nudge them just to do a welfare check and to make sure they were alive!
As you will learn from our chat though, this is normal for them as the night before RockWich this year they were sleeping in a field! Fortunately there were no cows in their immediate vicinity luckily! Just an FYI...No cows were harmed before, during or after this interview!!
They are well known as being a very hardworking, loyal and professional band who always give their best performance no matter what is going on in their personal lives, something of which is quite hard to do.
These lovable North Easterners certainly pack a punch and I can't wait to catch up again very soon, especially as I forgot to get a photo of us for the cover photo...whoopsy.

There's lots of men with nice hair in the music scene but I'm sure you will all agree with me that Tony Lang of Apriori has hair on another level!
If you've ever wondered how he gets his locks looking so luscious then wonder no more I had a little chat with him where he revealed all.

Abel and Kara Reed have been coming to RockWich since they were born more or less. Their dad Neil and mum Toni have introduced them to the rock music scene and by doing this has ignited a passion in them for getting to know the bands that they rock out to.
I needed a bit of help as I had my hands full so I asked Abel and Kara if they would help me out by interviewing Daxx & Roxane for me and they did such a wonderful job im sure you will all agree!
Enjoy.

Everybody has that one friend on Facebook who has put up with us for years and years and for me this is my man Liam Burke, he even knows a colleague of mine as they met through a gaming site, it really is a small world isn't it?!
Some of you may know Liam for his previous music management responsibilities with bands such as Voodoo Blood, Thirteen Stars...the list really does go on.
Everyone needs a Liam in their life because he goes above and beyond for each and every person he meets and is one of the kindest most genuine guys i've ever met!
Although it was his first time at RockWich he has assured me that it definitely won't be his last and he will be coming back next year, what an honour!
Hopefully our paths cross before that and don't forget to check out his secret festival, but remember it really is a secret so shhhhh..

I had the great pleasure of chatting to Slyder Smith & The Oblivion Kids about his music career over the many years he has been a valued artist in the scene.
Some of you might recognise Slyder from the band "Last Great Dreamers" where he rose to fame, the band were once signed to the same record label that Metallica were signed to! How awesome is that?!
Passionately known as Dreamers, they toured all over Europe and played many high end gigs but all good things must eventually come to an end, so Slyder plucked up the courage to go it alone and if you've listened to his music then you'll be extremely glad he did, he is simply wonderful!
He released his first album last year and it has gone from strength to strength and has since been aired internationally and on Radio 2.
If you haven't already then make sure you listen to his rocked up version of Never Ending Story, he's put his own stamp on it, added a bit more guitar and sprinkled it with guest vocals from Nina Courson of Healthy Junkies!
Check out his album, its definitely one to blast in your car with the windows down...I have a challenge for you all.. Try not to groove along when listening , I failed 10 seconds into When The Rain Comes!!
I'm absolutely gutted I didn't get chance to chat to him at RockWich Festival where he played a fantastic set, but you know what they say? Good things are worth waiting for!

They say storms don't last forever, I had the pleasure of chatting to 50 Year Storm at Sav Fest 2023.
I'm known for interviewing in unconventional locations and this was no different, this interview was recorded at the back of a motorhome on the campsite surrounded by the smell of freshly cooked bbq food.
Travelling all the way from Cornwall, which in itself is a mean feat I think it took them over 6 hours to travel to Sav Fest, this just shows the dedication and hard work bands like these put in to put on an awesome show for us. They are no strangers to travelling as they have played multiple venues and festivals across Europe.
I had the honour of meeting their friend Vish who met 50 Year Storm whilst DJing in Cornwall they came to watch his set, now the tables have turned and he has returned the favour by coming to watch them play!
Have a listen to our chat and go and check them out, I promise you won't be disappointed.

A regular to Sav Fest, you could even say that she is part of the furniture as she is responsible for opening the festival up armed with nothing more than her wonderful voice and her acoustic guitar! I've never met a more humble person than this lady right here Carrie-Anne Rogers, you'll often find her shying away from the spotlight until it's her time to play, when she gets on that stage the transformation from the shyness and nerves is unreal. She commands her audience and creates such a tranquil, ambiance with her acoustic notes!
It's hard to believe this is all done around being a wonderful mum! This part of music is often overlooked as we don't see that side, we just see a performer on the stage but in reality it's not as easy as it looks.
It took some convincing to get her on my podcast and I'm so glad I managed to persuade her as it was wonderful to chat to her and give people an insight into her personal life around music.

Now, those of you that know me will know that I ABSOLUTELY ADORE KinStrife.
I first met them at SavFest 2022 where they rescued me from a locked car park , I was a damsel in distress and they swooped in like Hercules to open the gates!
Since then, our paths meet quite regularly as they are a staple part of any festival line up and as their band is gaining traction they are becoming more and more popular!
But ladies I'm afraid i've gotta tell you to keep your hands off this handsome bunch as they are spoken for and their respective other halves and close friends are some of the nicest, kindest, strongest and wonderful women I ever did meet! People like this need treasuring and if the world had more of them then it would be a far better place! Yes Tina and Toni this it is aimed at you two!!
KinStrife are one of the only bands (The other one being Blue Nation at BBFest of course) to make me tear up when watching them, I was so proud of how far they have come over the last year since seeing them and the fun they are having radiates through their presence. I'm sorry everyone but if you are obsessed with their song "cursed" they now only play it for me at shows!!
Please go and support them, tell them I've sent you and I know how much it will mean to them!

After watching this band on the outside stage at Sav Fest I knew I had to chat to Not Now Norman! I was hypnotised by their cover of Muse's Supermassive Black hole.
Complete with David Bowiesque eye make up I just knew that there was something different about them. It's not very often you get a father-daughter duo but it became apparent that by chatting to them they have a better relationship than most people do!
Hailing from Berwick-Upon-Tweed the band was formed in 2019 as a self confidence project fro front woman Taylor-Grace Mitchell post graduation as she struggled to work due to having multiple disabilities which really had an adverse impact on her mental health.
That's where her dad stepped in and started some recording sessions with her to try to build up some motivation to get out of bed and grew from there. After he found out she could sing, he suggested to try working in music. With his experience in music and guitar Not Now Norman was born.
You really need to go and support this band they are so wholesome, Taylor flys the flag for every person with a disability and she's an absolute incredible lady with a heart of gold!

**TRIGGER WARNING MENTAL HEALTH**
I had the pleasure of chatting to Mikey Ball & The Company last night and whilst I still have a backlog of episodes to release this episode I felt had to take priority.
How often do we neglect our own mental health? How often do we burn ourselves out trying to please others? Well I chatted to Mikey about the importance of looking after our mental health and together we tried to banish the stigma surrounding mens mental health.
Some men still feel as if people expect them to hide their emotions and “man up,” or be strong for others. Having or acknowledging a mental health condition is still seen as a sign of weakness or lack of masculinity among some men.
It absolutely isn't a sign of weakness and EVERY PERSON ON THIS PLANET will experience mental health problems at some point in their lives.
There are still quite a lot of people that don't feel brave enough or comfortable in venturing to gigs and events they once loved. The COVID pandemic really affected many people in terms of loneliness, anxiety and depression not to mention money worries, health worries and many more problems and the aim of my podcast is so that people don't miss out in getting to know their favourite bands, I'll bring them to you!
Have a listen to our chat and I'm sure most of you can relate to this and just know two things,
1) YOU AREN'T ON YOUR OWN
2) IT IS OK NOT TO BE OK
We're all in this together so let's reach out and help each other!
Please find below a list of fantastic charities and organisations that are simply there to help you in your time of need.

Ever wanted to get to know your favourite bands? The aim of my podcast is to interview as many bands as I can in an informal way so that you get to know them as people rather than just an album…
