            • Know How... 227: Pokemon How, and Germination

We go over the basics of Pokemon Go, which extended battery is best for you, and building a germination cube.

              Pokemon Go

              The Basics

              Padre's Special Sauce
Since this is basically Ingress with a different skin many of the same recomendations that we had for Ingress will work for Pokemon Go.

              1. Power!
                • You're using the most power-hungry parts of your phone. (Screen, Cell Radio, GPS)
                • What you need is an external battery
              2. Innergie PocketCell Plus ~$60
                • 6,000 mAh
                • 2 USB ports that can supply a total of 21W
                • Can recharge at the same time it's charging
              3. Ventev Powercell 6000+ ~$40-55
                • 6,000 mAh
                • 2 USB ports that can supply a total of 15W
                • Includes an AC adapter!
              4. Anker Astro E1 ~$17
                • 5200 mAh
                • Single USB Port

              Germination Cube

              Project Summary
We want a transparent germination/seedling container that allows us to see when the plant is getting root-bound. However, a transparent container would allow direct light to strike roots, which will retard the growth of fine "root hairs" which are responsible for nutrient extraction. So we're creating a "germination cube" that will block direct light while holding an inexpensive transparent container.

              Parts List

              1. STL Files
              2. Alhambra Cups

              Tools

              1. 3D Printer

Here is the STL file for the Germination Cube:
