Two Broad Casters

Welcome to our pre Holiday podcast where we chat about Thanksgiving and Christmas and generally the year end season of celebration, gratitude, giving and all things lovely. However, so many times this is not the case for how many feel about it all. Perhaps a reboot of our mindsets about the triggers of the season are in order? A cast filled with refection, some coping ideas, getting creative with gift giving, supporting local business and more on this episode with the festive broads.

The Two Broads had helicopter parenting on their minds but per usual the conversation quickly grew into something more zoomed out. Parenting is hard, awesome yet hard but we wondered if sometimes we make it harder by being in our own way, forgetting to make it fun and missing things that could ease the weight of responsibility. Parenting may be extra hard when we are racing to grow up before our kids.

Poet, Actor, teacher, Cameron Mitchell joins us on this podcast. We discuss his very unique and creative projects he has going on and how they tie into community building. Of course, as per usual with most Two Broad Casters podcasts, we stretch the conversation into something even deeper. Words! The magic of the gift of communicating, how important they are to share, how they can encourage or discourage. The importance of writing and storytelling. This week the broads get into a motivating and passionate discussion about volunteering. How there is such beauty in the giving. Being a part of seeing a human get a hand up is one of the greatest gifts we have been given. Volunteering can aid in anxiety, depression, loneliness, and feeling isolated as it pulls us away from our own sometimes levels of too much about our self and our needs. It's a working irony of give and take that has beauty. Tune in and get on the broad band.

These two broads were on a month long hiatus from recording so this was our post adventure cast to fire back up. Sarah had been in Europe for three weeks and Lauri was farm sitting for Sarah as well as revisiting her old home state of Tennessee.

So many desire a meaningful relationship. So many broken relationships. So many broken hearts. So many feel disheartened about not finding true love. The Two Broads have a conversation about perhaps some fresh perspectives about this topic and how we disregard red flags or dismiss important discussions before barreling forward.
