After an unintended hiatus, we’re back with a new season of magick! First Aradia covers some logistics and show updates (we love you Liz!), and then we dive into the meat and potatoes of the episode. Should we have talked about eclipse season a couple months ago before it happened? Probably. Does that stop you from absorbing the info to prepare for this fall? No way! Learn the basics of what an eclipse is, why it’s meaningful - especially if you’ve always thought they were a bit bunk like Aradia, how you can personalize the energy, and get ideas for spellwork you can cast to make the most of those celestial seasons.

We're back with some action steps to building your own dedication ritual, Liz get Aradia talking about their own dedication stories, and we read some submitted stories from listeners about their own experiences finding deity. Did you know Aradia's runic necklace means "The Torch"? We do now!

I have said from the beginning that one of the first skills a witch really needs to learn is energy work. Energy is in everything; everything has energy, gives off energy, and is fueled by energy. Energy is the basis for the magick we weave, the spells we cast, and the way we connect with the world around us. Knowing how you perceive and interact with the energy of the world around you is a critical skill for anyone wanting to develop a witchcraft practice, and so today, we’re finally gonna talk about it.

Ever wondered how to work with Faerie energy in your practice? Today, we're diving down that faerie ring and traversing the wylds to talk about what the fae are (and what they're not), learn where and how they came about, demystify superstitions, and introduce some (safe!) ways you can start developing a relationship. The Fae can be a powerful addition to your witchcraft - but it's not for the faint of heart.

We get a lot of questions for recommended resources on various topics, so today's episode is a round-up of our favorite forms of content, from books to podcasts to videos and more. Most of what we recommend is totally newbie friendly, so if you're just starting out but aren't sure where to go first, make sure to take notes!
(And if you're a fan of deep sea creatures - or listening to second-hand discomfort - stick around til the end, where Aradia goes off on a science tangent and Liz gives her squid-filled nightmares.)

How do you even go about finding a tradition or coven? And if you decide to build your own practice, where do you even start? We’ll cover all the basics and more in today’s episode.

Buzzfeed. Beano. Pop Sugar. Brainfall. These are just a few of the websites promoting quizzes and listicles that will tell you what type of witch you’re destined to be. The belief around these categories or types of witches is so pervasive, it’s one of the most common beginner questions we see. Liz believes there’s value in these labels, while Aradia feels they’re too arbitrary to do anyone any real good. What do you think?

Happy Pride Month! As proud card carrying members of the Alphabet Mafia, Aradia and Liz are excited to talk about the intersection of queerness and spirituality this week - and we only go off the rails a couple times! Join us as we talk about the overlap in the two communities, tips for de-gendering your energy and practice, and have story time where we talk about all the ways in which the gods were hella gay.
We've got some book recs if these topics interest you further, & some queer witch swag if you want to wear your pride - but beware: here there be spoilers for various queer representation in media! (Show notes will have the time stamps so you can skip spoilers if you want)
