If you are a rancher/cowboy/cattleman, (unless you've been living under a rock) you've more than likely heard about the USDA working on rules to mandate electronic identification tags (EID's) in all cattle across the United States.  One of our two grumpy farmers had originally bought into the USDA's supposed reasoning behind wanting to mandate these EID's: Disease Traceability.  Unfortunately, things are not all the seem with the USDA and there may be more nefarious purposes behind this new regulation.  And that is what your Two Grumpy Farmers are griping about today.  Listen to what they have to say, do your own research, and if you agree with our conclusions, please contact the USDA and tell them NO EID Mandate.

On today's episode, our Two Grumpy Farmers AJ and Tyler decide to jump headfirst into the dumpster fire that is the debate over minimum wage.  They gripe and discuss about the unintended consequences of minimum wage, and how it has actually caused more problems while simultaneously not solving the original problem it was created to address in the first place.  Beyond that, our Two Grumpy Farmers discuss an underlying issue that creates part of the trouble around minimum wage...Lack Of Personal Responsibility.  Do AJ and Tyler have a solution?  Maybe, maybe not.  Guess you'll have to listen and find out for yourself!

Farmers and Ranchers disagree on quite a number of things.  Till versus No-Till, Red Equipment versus Green Equipment, Angus versus...Well...Pretty Much Every Other Breed.  The list is nearly endless.  However, the one thing that brings us all together in mutual disdain is the subject of today's gripe: Engineers.  Between hiding grease zerks, burying belts, and making disassembly bolts inaccessible, there isn't a single farmer or rancher that hasn't worked on/maintained a piece of equipment without cussing the engineer who designed it.  Today, AJ and Tyler air their frustrations about overly complex and poorly engineered equipment that plague farmers and ranchers every day.  And of course, after all the griping, AJ and Tyler attempt to solve the problem.  Will they figure out a solution? Today, AJ and Tyler dive into the first problem plaguing not only agriculture, but the world as a whole.  And that problem is Fertilizer.  Though fertilizer has made it possible to produce more on every acre, chemical fertilizer has more than its share of problems that affect everyone from the suppliers down to the consumers.  Price, Government Regulations, and Environmental Concerns are just a few of the issues that our Two Grumpy Farmers will tackle today.  First, like all typical farmers, they'll gripe about the problems.  But then they will discuss possible solutions!  What could they be?  Guess you'll have to listen and find out!

We'll call this one Episode 0 of the Two Grumpy Farmers Podcast!  In today's episode, we introduce our two grumpy farmers.  AJ Lanier and Tyler Tobald, old college roomates who farm in two different areas of Kansas plan tackling all the world's problems one episode at a time.  But before they solve all the world's problems, we're going to give you some background on who they are, and where they come from.  Stay tuned for more episodes!  Hopefully there'll be episodes released at least twice a month!
