Sticking around for a Part 2, Annie Frey and Katie Fitzpatrick get personal with Jill Devine about self-image/body issues.  All three women shared personal stories about their self-image/body issues and the impact it has made on them.  Great advice was given on how to try to combat those issues and the things the ladies would like to see for the next generation of young ladies.

Annie Frey and Katie Fitzpatrick joined Jill Devine on this weeks’ episode.  Annie and Katie are paving the way for other women who want to get in talk radio, specifically on a male dominated radio station. “The Annie Frey Show” can be heard Monday-Friday from 12-3p on FM NewsTalk 97.1, which is a talk radio format that covers everything from current events to politics.? From national to local, 97.1 is a hub of information mixed in with conservative opinion.

The show recently won a Gracie Award: “The Gracie Awards recognize exemplary programming created by women, for women and about women in all facets of media and entertainment.  The Gracies focus on women who are making positive change and who further the discussion of what a fulfilling career in media looks like.” 

In Part 1 of the discussion, Annie and Katie discussed their role on 97.1, accepting the Gracie Award, politics (gasp, they mention President Trump!!), and how women get in their own way.

She’s baaaack!  Jamie Case, Executive Director at Gateway Pet Guardians, joins Jill for Episode 10.  Jill has been having some conflicting feelings about her love for animals, in particular her dog, Apple, now that she has children.  It’s been weighing heavily on Jill’s mind and she wanted to bring in an animal expert and a true animal lover to help her sort through the thoughts and feelings.

In Part 2 of Episode 9, Jill continued the discussion with Rachel Sauter.  The majority of the conversation was about the future of social media and in particular, the future of social media with our children.  Jill and Rachel also discussed the future goals of Leopard Boutique and the plans Leopard has for its clientele, which includes how to improve upon creating experiences for anyone who walks through their doors.

Jill has been open about not being a huge fan of boutiques because of the stigma attached to them … overpriced and only people who are a size small can fit in the clothes.  Jill stumbled across a boutique, Leopard Boutique, in her hometown and decided to check it out despite her previous feelings.  She ended up meeting the owner, Rachel Sauter, and that meeting changed her attitude about shopping in a boutique.  That meeting also started a friendship.  That meeting also ignited inspiration.  Leopard offers an experience of empowerment for its clientele.  Rachel talks about that in Part One of Episode Nine.

Imagine taking your daughter to school and another mother judges you out loud and your daughter hears it.  What would you do?  How would you react?  What would you say?

This scenario happened to this week's guest and she tells Jill all about it.  

The saying is true, time goes by way too fast.  With two little ones at home, Jill isn't close to visiting colleges with her daughters, but that time will come and it will come fast. 

Valarie Goldstein is at that point in her life with her children and she discussed how it's making her feel, as well as providing some tips on how to prepare for an empty nest.  

It’s very to assume celebrities have it all and they have zero insecurities.  Why would someone who’s rich and famous dislike the way they look?  Or why would someone rich and famous be able to be Supermom and handle everything smoothly?  That’s just ridiculous.  Jill took this episode to talk about Carrie Underwood and the things Carrie has recently opened up about, including: Carrie’s comments about her post-baby body and how it has been harder for her to bounce back after baby #2 and her interview with Natalie Morales about juggling being a mom and her “Cry Pretty” tour. 

When Jill was on maternity leave with her youngest daughter, she had a text conversation with one of her "non-mom" friends, Rachel Zimmerman.  The night before their conversation, Jill experienced a weak moment with the baby (one of many) and she told Rachel about it.  Rachel's response wasn't what Jill was expecting and Jill wasn't not sure why she didn't expect that kind of response from her.  The conversation is discussed in this week's episode.  

About two years ago, Jill started paying a little more attention to Hoda Kotb when Hoda announced she adopted a baby girl.  Jill had a baby girl about six months before that and could relate to the love Hoda had for her first-born.  Fast forward to now and with Jill having her second daughter four months ago and Hoda having her second daughter a month ago, more connection!  Jill loves the positive energy Hoda radiates and wants to be her friend.
