This episode marks Abby’s 25th birthday! Two Kosh Girls chat about how Abby plans on celebrating her special day, the infamous quarter life crisis, and the birthday listicle Abby’s currently writing titled “25 by 25” - which of course inspires the two of them to go off on a tangent regarding what they feel they’ve accomplished so far. Following this deep birthday discussion, they introduce Yoni Kletzel, an up-and-coming Israeli-American comedian who performs at stand-up nights and bachelorette parties. He talks about why he got into comedy in the first place, the big-league American and Israeli comedians who inspire his work, and where exactly he comes up with his material. We also discuss his latest drama on Instagram and TikTok, and what exactly goes down at the bachelorette parties he performs at. We touch upon his relationship with Judaism, and how it influences the kind of comedy he produces. Of course, no comedy sketch is complete without an honest roasting session, so Two Kosh Girls also gave Yoni permission to totally roast the pod. On this episode, Two Kosh Girls chat with one of Abby’s Israeli buddies, Or Malky. Abby and Or met in South America after completing their army services, and embarked on the adventure of a lifetime together on the sweet, sweaty Chilean road. First, Jor and Abs recap both their Passovers in New York and Israel, and they reminisce over their own travels in Europe back in the day. Afterwards, they dive right into talking about Israeli post-army adventures. It’s no secret that Israelis seem to inhabit every corner of the globe. It’s especially common for Israelis to backpack and travel for extended amounts of time after their military service, and we wanted to investigate why. We chat with Or about the inherent Israeli desire to travel, why they choose certain destinations over others, and what exactly they gain from their post-army travels. Or shares hilarious personal anecdotes, crazy travel stories (like getting threatened and almost getting killed by a drug dealer), experiences roughing it in remote, magical locations, and tips for those looking to book a flight and live a bit more on the wild side. For the Passover 2021 episode, Two Kosh Girls host Meyer Grunberg and Isaac Simon, hosts of the Two Tall Jews Show podcast and managers of the ‘On This Day In Jewish History’ Instagram. Before chatting with them, we celebrate the fact that both of us are finally fully vaccinated! Jori’s already been to Disney World with her boyfriend, and shares what it was like to visit the iconic theme park in her twenties. Afterwards, Meyer and Isaac tell us about their Jewish backgrounds, how they reconnected with their Judaism, and their fight against antisemitism via their podcast and Instagram. They also discuss how they met on a Hasbara program in Israel, and how they slowly but surely developed their bromance and ultimately decided to start a podcast together. In honor of Women’s History Month, Two Kosh Girls highlight Jewish women that we find inspiring from the past and the present. We talk with incredible Jewish content creator, podcast producer, and soon-to-be children’s book illustrator Rebecca Kerzner, who also happens to be a close college bestie of ours. We chat about our favorite Jewish pop culture icons, biblical characters, and our personal female inspirations. Rebecca dives into the story of Tamar, and how she took control of her own narrative. Last Purim, Abby took to the streets of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv to ask Israelis about their craziest Purim. This year’s Purim has particularly unusual conditions (did somebody say curfew?), and Two Kosh Girls wanted to turn back time to the energies of last year, where the parties were bigger, the spirits were higher, and the liquor was flowing all around. In honor of Black History Month, Two Kosh Girls take on Jori’s Black and Jewish upbringing. We talk with Jori’s dad, James Holloway, about his conversion to Judaism almost thirty years ago, and how he acclimated to becoming a member of the tribe. We also dive into the similarities between Black and Jewish histories, and how our narratives intertwine. Jori chimes in with her experiences growing up mixed, and becoming confident with her diverse identity when she arrived in Israel for her gap year. Jori delves into why she started keeping Shabbat back on her gap year, and Abby covers how Shabbat helps her maintain her connection to Judaism.
