I am so excited to introduce you to Sue Gottschall a co-founder of Chicago Family Picnic. Sue is a  Certified Lactation Consultant, Childbirth Educator and Doula. She answers questions about common childbirth fears and explains best practices for postpartum care. If you are pregnant, a new mom, or partner this conversation has a wealth of information for you!

Missi got married in her early twenties and struggled to find a birth control that didn't make her sick. Once she discovered she was pregnant, Missi bravely made choices about moving to a different state and having a home birth. She vulnerably shares about her struggle with postpartum depression. But at the end of it all, she believes that her little girl is her "light shining in the wood".

Sasha continues her story by describing the inadequate health care she received, possibly due to racism. She experienced an emergency c-section, postpartum depression, and undiagnosed preeclampsia. In spite of life-threatening circumstances, she honestly portrays how becoming a parent is one of the best things that has happened to her.
