Episode V, "Embrace Adversity" We have an incredible guest joining us. Imagine waking up, it is two months later, and wondering if you still have your feet. For Katelyn, that was not an imagination but a reality. As an 18 year old Freshmen in college, she contracted bacterial meningitis, which turned her life upside down. She was put in a two month medically induced coma, almost given her last rights twice, liver and kidney failure, 63% of her body being covered in skin grafts, and the amputation of both of her feet below the knee. Eight months and twenty-five days later, she finally returned home to start her life anew as an amputee. Through this experience, she learned that life is precious and one only gets to live it once, therefore, you must make the most of it and continue to prove every stereotype placed upon you wrong.
