Hello everyone,

This Sunday (12-1) my sermon title is "Awake + Alive"

Here are the primary texts I'll be working with (from the Lectionary)

Matthew 24:42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come."

Romans 13:11-12a "And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here."

In these passages, we see two separate but related concepts.

#1- Jesus' admonition to stay awake/keep watch

#2- Paul's call to wake up

There are those of us who are awake but our eyes are getting heavy and we are close to drifting off. How do we make sure we don't fall asleep?

Then, there are those of us that have fallen asleep and it's time for us to wake up!

I'll be discussing each of these topics and we will have 10+ minutes at the end for Q+A.
