What is your new year's resolution? Me? Oh, I don't make resolutions. I just choose to love better in the coming year.

The Joy of the LORD is your strength. Really? Is it? If it is, then why is it so hard at times to experience true joy? In this season of the year, when the world is focused on the Incarnation of Christ, can you intelligently discuss your belief? (Note: This is NOT a sermon about the theology and/or definition of the Incarnation.)

When your heart lacks confidence in your salvation, you can turn to God's Word for reassurance. (Note: Following the sermon (and before the communion service), Pastor Bob realized he left out a key point--there is a distinct difference between guilt and shame. Guilt is recognizing that one has harmed another; shame is self-condemnation. God will cause guilt; God will never shame anyone. If you are experiencing shame, it is not from God.)

Theory or Practice -- in which are you involved?

Love is commanded. Love is also a choice. So, you have the choice to love or not. If one chooses not to love, there will be consequences. But, what are the benefits if one chooses to love? What will be the result?

If Jesus destroyed the works of the devil, why is the devil still able to wreak such havoc in the world? (Note: The attached PDF shows the list of scriptures Pastor Sugden used during the sermon.)

What does it mean to "abide in Him"? And, what does shame and confidence have to do with abiding?

A child of God or a child of the devil--how do you tell the difference?

When was the last time you just sat and looked at God's love? Never?!? Well, how about trying to do so today?
