Two Rivers Community Church of the Nazarene

Sometimes we are called to speak hard words into the lives of those around us. And, it won't win us any popularity contests!

How can you stand to be a person with a dirty mouth?

Never take Him for granted.

What does it mean to be a good grape? Why does this please God?

(Note: The sermon from 1.31.2016 was titled "The Plight of the Ring Bearer". It was based on Isaiah 3:1-4:6. In the last half of the sermon, Pastor Sugden showed numerous video clips from the movie "Fellowship of the Ring" (from the Lord of the Rings trilogy). Because that audio content is copyrighted, we cannot store the sermon's audio file on this website. If you would like a copy of the audio of the sermon, please contact our church and we will be happy to send you a copy.)

"...if the world is ever to say 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD', the LORD's people must heed the call to 'Come, let us walk in the light of the LORD': the first requirement in evangelism is to have a church that is worth joining!"

(Alec J. Motyer in his commentary on the book of Isaiah, page 51)

The promise of cleansing from our sin is for all who will respond appropriately to the "Big If."

This sermon is the introduction to a year-long (maybe longer) study of the prophecy of Isaiah, son of Amoz.

What is the best resolution one can make at the start of 2016?

How can God demand that we be joyful? Isn't joy an emotion? I can't make myself feel an emotion on command.

If God asks you to do something you don't understand or agree with, will you do it?
