This week:  the doctrine of repentance.  The most basic teaching of the man who was sent to make way for Christ is unfortunately glazed over far too often in the modern American church.  A command not just for the lost, but for the redeemed in Christ all the more.  At such a critical juncture in our country, this is an issue that God’s people must be willing to convey as an essential part of the Great Commission.  Without repentance, we cannot see our need for a savior.  Without a savior, we are hopelessly condemned. 

In this episode we begin by answering a listeners question about deathbed confessionals in reference to our previous episode on election.  We then start our root conversation with biblically defining repentance, examining texts in reference to the doctrine, and discuss where some get the concept wrong.  The final question we seek to answer is, “What do we say to those that think we’ve been ‘saved’ through this election?  And what does it have to do with repentance?”

Maybe you’ve heard of it, churches claiming supernatural occurrences of gold dust and feathers falling from the ceiling and precious stones appearing during church services.  The most notable place of occurrence being Bethel Church in Redding, CA.  Since we have no direct reference for any of this in the bible, what are we to make of it?  How do we know if it’s real?

No clever titles this week, just straight Gospel talk.  This week we welcome our first guest:  our Pastor Ben Ritz.  If you've listened to our first 10 episodes (THANK YOU!!) this is a great culmination to the topics we've discussed.  We sought Ben's opinion on various topics related to what a biblical church should look like:  What does Gospel-Centered mean?  What is the purpose of meeting?  What should biblical worship include?  How should we view membership to a church body?

Medical Marijuana:  We received a listener email asking about the usage of medical marijuana for the Christian.  Is it ok?  Is it a sin?  Is the line more grey than black?

Hypostatic Union:  A common interpretation of Phillipians 2:7 is that Jesus emptied himself of his divinity while on earth.  But is that what the scripture really says?  If we are to truly believe that Jesus is God, then can we really also simultaneously believe that he was dependent upon the Holy Spirit for his divine works? 

The Ramp:  We follow up the Hypostatic Union discussion with an audio clip of the false teaching in the Church about Jesus' divinity.  The popular youth movement The Ramp may be filled with an abundance of emotion, but is their Christology on point?
