What if we’re not afraid of being seen, but of what happens when people start looking?
In this episode, we explore the connections between fear, privacy and visibility, how visibility wounds can become part of our identity, and the tension between wanting to be seen and protecting ourselves in the process.
We unpack the lack of role models who demonstrate healthy boundaries around visibility, the responsibility that comes with being seen, the role ego plays in our pursuit of it, and what visibility might look like in the future.
For us, wanting to be visible and wanting to feel safe can both be true. The question is, what happens when visibility actually works?
What does grief look like when you’re still going to work, achieving your goals and looking after everyone else? On the surface, you seem fine. But what’s happening underneath?
In this episode, we explore the reality of being a functional griever, from denial and learned behaviours to the need for control. We ask whether we’ve been running from our grief rather than allowing ourselves to feel it. For us, grief doesn’t have a neat endpoint, and sometimes losing someone also means losing a part of who you were.
When you’re still showing up and getting things done, it can be easy for others to miss what you’re carrying. So what does it mean to be functioning and grieving, and does looking okay mean we are?
In this episode, we get real candid, unpacking how satisfying being right actually is and what happens when pride, ego and our need for protection get in the way of genuine connection. We explore the power of understanding, knowing when to stop and recognising when connection is more valuable and meaningful than being right.
There are lots of laughs, a low moment as we reflect on society today, and some honest conversations about who we are and what we truly seek from the relationships around us.
We move the conversation forward by asking better questions and exploring the power and importance of reflection. It really does save lives.
We hope you enjoy this episode and carry on the conversation in the comments!
We can give everyone else the advice, but why is it so hard to take our own?
In this episode, we get into the messy side of love, the trigger points that bring out different versions of ourselves, and why being self-aware doesn’t always mean having it all figured out.
We talk about what it really means to “do the work”, and how pride, ego and pain can sometimes get in the way of the person we’re trying to become. Because sometimes the hardest person to understand is yourself...
We live in a world where time feels like currency, and being busy can easily become a measure of our worth, progress and productivity. But does being busy actually mean we’re moving forward?
In this episode, we talk about planting seeds without immediately seeing the harvest, the tension of building the career or project we once prayed for, and the strange feeling of being overwhelmed while living in an answered prayer. We unpack what productive work really looks like, whether meaningful work has to feel busy, and the guilt that can come with slowing down, especially as moms.
What if rest isn't taking you away from the life you prayed for, but helping you actually live it?
We’re taught to be independent, strong and self-sufficient, but where does empowerment end and isolation begin?
In this episode, we unpack what we actually allow our village to show up for, and why independence hasn’t always felt as freeing or happy as we thought it would. We explore whether some of what we call independence is actually rooted in fear, survival, and not feeling safe enough to rely on others. And then there’s steroid-level independence, or what we call hyper-independence, where doing everything alone starts to feel less like strength and more like armour.
What if letting people in isn't weakness but another form of strength?
