  • The Man of Screen Extra Episode 33 - Shared Fandom: MCU Phase 1-ish
In episode 33 of Man of Screen Extra, Mike Zummo returns to do another one of his “Shared Fandom” episodes as he and his daughter, Haley, start journeying through the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
So theyre starting this watch in somewhat of a chronological order as it started with “Captain Marvel”, which was a second viewing for both of them as they saw them both in the theory.
Mike will take you through the journey that continues through “Iron Man”, “Iron Man 2”, “The Incredible Hulk”, “Thor”, “Captain America: The First Avenger”, “The Avengers” and “Iron Man 3”, so basically Phase 1-ish.
Hell guide you through Haleys reactions to the films, what she liked, what she didnt like. Which films were her favorites? Which film did she not enjoy as much? The answers may surprise you. It certainly did him.
Next time: Thats undecided. Stay tuned to the Facebook page or Twitter for more information. Could be MCU Phase 2 or the annual Christmas episode.

  • Pop Culture Affidavit Episode 114: Unsolved Mysteries of the Unknown
It's Halloween and that means it's time for me to actually get seasonal ... for once. I'm here and talking about some oddities of entertainment from the late 1980s and early 1990s. First up is Time-Life Books' best-selling series Mysteries of the Unknown, whose commercials were some of the creepies of the time. Then, I move into the area of true crime (among other subjects) by looking at a classic Robert Stack-era episode of Unsolved Mysteries. Plus: listener feedback!
As always, check out the blog for show notes, and don't forget that you can email me at [email protected]!

  • The Man of Screen Podcast Episode 177 - Superboy: Brimstone/Abandon Earth
In episode 177 of the Man of Screen podcast, Mike Zummo continues his run through the second season of the Salkind-produced “Superboy” television series, which aired in syndication from 1988-1992.
First, were going to take a walk on the mystical side, as if we havent done that enough so far this season. Were going to meet a mysterious man on a motorcycle, bearing a striking resemblance to a detective from Miami.
He claims to be a doctor and says hes after something called a Prodo as he looks to finish off a family feud.
    But who is “Brimstone”?
And then, were going to “Meet the Parents”. Superboys parents, that is as Jor-El and Lara, bearing a striking resemblance to Marlon Brando and Susannah York from Superman: The Movie, have arrived to take their boy home?
Because he was “taken” from Earth?
    Confused yet? Superboy is, too.
But not confused enough not to “Abandon Earth”.
Next time: Were going to finish what we started with “Escape to Earth” and then Superboy will find love in “Superstar”.

It's a stop-gap show! Thankfully, it's NOT a clip show. Andrew views iconic '70s Sci-Fi drama THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN, specifically the first proper episode, Population: Zero! In this episode, Steve falls into a TV knock of The Andromeda Strain and must fight zero temperatures and disgruntled former government employees! Does Steve survive? Well, the series ran for 5 seasons, so what do you think?
