Two True Freaks

The Dark Phoenix Saga continues here!!!

Were back with the interns and picking up where we left off last time, covering the Dark Phoenix Saga, but this time, we will be covering X-Men 136 – “Child of Light and Darkness”.

Are you ready for this?

I didnt think so!

Anyway, with the new X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix, being released into theaters by Fox this week, we figured we should show you how its really done.

And we will re-iterate our stance that the X-Men should be a series, like Game of Thrones on HBO, and it should be

A multi-part EPIC!!

We will cover X-Men 136 in our second Dark Phoenix episode. And because it was so easy, we brought in some interns to do the heavy lifting again. Listeners and frequent email and Facebook stalkers John Hijatt and David Thompson return to help as we cover the Dark Phoenix Saga to the bitter end.

Tim Elliott and Brian Hughes are still around as well. Though they are not drinking in this episode as the drinking game from last time almost killed them. Note- 3rd Degree Byrne does not support drinking games and only included that information last month under direction from Dufaux Dimanzos dog, Fifi.

So enjoy a cool beverage at your own pace and check out the latest offering from 3rd Degree Byrne!

Dr. Bill & Paul take a look at the final chapter of the first story arc for this independent series. Whatever will become of Henry Henry? How about the baby Muse? Are there twists and turns? Listen in to find out!

"A thousand year Reich needs thousand year soldiers."

On this special episode of Bots, Bugs, and Babes, my father (Al Jaconetti) and I celebrate the 75th anniversary of D-Day with 2018's Overlord. We cover all the different aspects of this film that most people heard about, but passed by for one reason or another. We get in depth about this great little film and show that good horror movies can still be made in 2018. So strap on your helmet, grab a parachute, and get ready to feel this course through your veins.

Ranty McMagnus has a bee in his bonnet with digital comics, boys and girls. And you people are going to hear all about it! Oddly enough, Magnus is able to draw two or three relatively straight lines between buying digital comics through an app today and buying paper comics from speculators back in the nineties. Sometimes it's hard to tell which is more annoying, tbh.

Return to 1984 as we watch 2 more episodes of The Transformers! See the invention of the Space Bridge in "Transport to Oblivion, then watch Megatron attempt to harness the power of anti-matter in "Roll for It."

Time travel- it's a Star Trek staple, going back to the Original Series. But, what if the concept was turned on it's ear, and a starfleet crew had to make a tough decision?

That would be a Deep Space Nine episode, where we fine our crew stuck between a rock and a hard place, with no easy way out of a bad situation.

Listen as Andrew, Paul, Dr. Bill, and David witness a surprisingly potent episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine that manages to hit home.

Welcome to Jaig Eyes & Jedi - a Star Wars: Rebels podcast! This week join Hope Mullinax and Chris Honeywell for the 4th installment of season 2, BROTHERS OF THE BROKEN HORN! There will be - HONDO - SCROTUM FACE RETURNS - SCREAMING DEATH IN SPACE - HAND-O CALRISSIAN - DOUBLE BLASTER MURDER DROID - EZRA GETS IT DONE - AND MORE!!!!

Okay, so minor change of plans here. But it's all under control. Everything will be just fine. But right now seem like it would be a good time to salute a pretty solid movie and, in the bargain, give a shout out to a listener. So David Wang, opportunity knocks! In this week's adventure, Magnus takes a fond look back at 1998's The Mask Of Zorro, starring Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas.

In episode 132 of the man of Screen podcast, Mike Zummo continues his run through the 1981 Superfriends shorts. This basically means the second third of the season.

First and foremost, Superman meets his match as we get a riff on what we saw in Superman II as Sy-Cree, who was jailed by Jor-El comes to Earth seeking revenge on Superman in “The Evil From Krypton”.

And then were going to the junkyard because a creature is going to be born out of old car parts in what is being described as an “environmental emergency.” So were going to need both the combined forces of the Dynamic Duo and the Wonder Twins as they battled “The Creature from the Dump”.

And now were going to fly the beastly skies as an airliner is turned into a dragon and creates a whole bunch of other monsters and space dragons as we fight some “Aircraft Terror”.

Then were going to have a hot time in the old town as a whale stuck in the river and a dam fire leads to an invasion. How hard will it be for the Superfriends to battled “The Lava Men”?

Then Superman and Black Vulcan are going to take a trip. A trip into outer space, to a square world where everthing is backward. A world where our favorite reverse Superman will turn Superman into a Super-Weakling. Come, tell us your tale of “Bazarowurld”.

And then were going to get a visit from the past, 13th century Japan that is. A warlord found new grounds to pillage. Not new grounds, just in a new time. What does this have to do with “The Warlords Amulet”?

Next time: Mike will complete his coverage of the 1981 Superfriends shorts.
